Position Summary
The Associate Data Consultant supports the Data Acquisition Team by converting, validating, and analyzing client data for automated Sales and Use tax reviews. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with strong technical aptitude and attention to detail who want to build expertise in data transformation and compliance processes. The Associate Client Data Consultant works closely with team members to ensure accurate data preparation and timely client deliverables.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Convert client data files into usable formats for processing.
  • Validate and scrub client data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Add or modify data fields in existing client files as needed.
  • Review ERP tables (SAP, Oracle, JDE) and determine relationships for data integration.
  • Respond to specific data requests from consultants and managers.
  • Maintain detailed working notes for all client data projects.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to obtain required data.
  • Track time spent on projects for ROI analysis and billing purposes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Informatics, or a related field required
  • 1+ years of experience in data-related work preferred
  • Proficiency in Database Software, Microsoft Office (Office, Excel, Word); advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE) and data tools (IDEA, SQL, OmniPage, UltraEdit) is a plus
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to utilize technical tools to manage multiple tasks under deadlines
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week
  • Travel: None
  • Physical Activity:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
    • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and sounds
    • Frequent repetitive motions with hands
