Job description

For 185 years, Rodney Hunt has been the trusted engineering partner behind complex flow-control solutions in the municipal water sector. Our team supports mission-critical infrastructure—from major Oil & Gas clients including ARAMCO, Bechtel, and Technip to large U.S. government contracts for the Navy and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We are seeking a Sales Engineer who owns the hunt—someone who can open doors, build relationships in the water market & consistently turn opportunities into revenue.

Job Overview:
Are you a closer who loves the hunt? We’re looking for a driven Sales Engineer who thrives on winning new business, opening accounts, and being first in the door. If you are self-motivated, competitive, and at your best when you're turning leads into contracts, this role is built for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive sales growth within the assigned territory through proactive outreach, relationship development, and project pursuit.
Promote Rodney Hunt sluice gates and flow-control products to consultants, contractors, representatives, and municipal agencies.
Deliver technical expertise and application-specific solutions to ensure products meet project specifications.
Travel to the territory up to twice per month to conduct presentations, meet end-users, and visit consultants/contractors.
Manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation and bid follow-up to contract negotiation and close.
Partner with internal Engineering, Estimating, and Project Management teams to support accurate proposals and seamless project handoff.
Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events to represent the Rodney Hunt brand.
Prepare forecasts, pipeline reports, and territory-level performance updates for leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, chemical, or a related engineering field is preferred, along with at least 2 years of industrial sales experience.
Self-starter with a result-driven approach and the ability to close sales consistently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with CRM software and sales processes is a plus.
