Job description

As a Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Pittsburgh, PA office, you will work with project teams to create civil engineering site development designs, develop permitting and construction plans, and prepare municipal zoning and land development applications for our commercial, industrial, institutional, and energy clients. From solar farms to major university expansions and steel mills to natural gas facilities, you’ll take part in designing site layouts, site grading, erosion and sedimentation controls, stormwater management facilities, and site utilities. Interacting with clients, contractors, and local government officials, you’ll impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction, all the way to the grand opening.

*$5,000 sign-on bonus for elgibile candidates

You will work closely with our Project Managers and Principals in our civil/site practice to plan and execute projects, communicate with clients, develop new client opportunities, and grow your career. You’ll coordinate with other practices (including geotechnical engineering, environmental, ecological, and other practices) to address project-specific needs. You will also mentor junior staff on technical items and have the opportunity to attend industry organization and client meetings.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience
  • Engineering In Training (EIT) certification required or Professional Engineer licensure (P.E.) preferred
  • Proficiency in computer modeling software, including: AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and Storm Sewers
  • Ability and desire to mentor junior staff
