Assistant Property Manager

Location: Harvard Plaza – Burbank, CA
Property Type: 150-Unit Independent Living Senior Community

Harvard Plaza is seeking an experienced, full-time Assistant Property Manager with experience in HUD Section 8 to join our team. This beautiful, well-maintained senior community has a low turnover rate, stable ownership, and a strong reputation for resident satisfaction and compliance excellence. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Property Manager with administrative duties, including rent collection, vendor coordination, and compliance reporting.
  • Assist with annual and interim certifications for all residents in accordance with company policies and HUD Section 8 guidelines.
  • Assist with all aspects of leasing, including processing applications, interviewing prospective residents, preparing documentation for certifications and recertifications, and maintaining accurate waiting lists.
  • Help conduct move-in and move-out inspections in compliance with HUD and company standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents and applicants, maintaining a professional and supportive community atmosphere.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous property management experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with HUD or affordable housing programs is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • OneSite experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Background checks will be conducted before employment.
  • Commitment to a drug-free workplace

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions in both an office and a residential property setting. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • Frequently operates a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to remain seated or standing for long periods (up to 8 hours per day).
  • Occasionally moves about the property, including climbing stairs and conducting inspections.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, supplies).
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
