What are citation jobs?

Citation jobs typically involve identifying, collecting, and managing references or sources for academic, legal, or publishing purposes. People working in citation roles may be responsible for verifying the accuracy of sources, formatting citations according to specific style guides (such as APA, MLA, or Chicago), and ensuring that all referenced material is properly credited. These roles are important in environments like libraries, academic publishing, legal offices, and research institutions, where accuracy and integrity of sourced information are critical.

What are the main challenges someone in a Citation Specialist role might face when ensuring the accuracy and consistency of business listings across multiple directories?

Additionally, staying updated on evolving directory guidelines and managing duplicate listings are common tasks, making proactive problem-solving and adaptability important skills for success in this role.
