Job description

Christ Community Church in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking a genuine, humble, passionate leader for the worship ministries of our church.

The primary goal of the Director of Worship & Arts (DWA) is to help people meet and follow Jesus utilizing music, media, and other artistic expression. The DWA will lead all things worship and production at CCC, and will recruit and develop other leaders to share the stage and the ministry. The ideal candidate will be very proficient vocally and on at least one instrument and will have demonstrated skills in team-building, conducting rehearsals and collaborative worship service planning. They will need at least a working knowledge of AV tech for trouble-shooting and problem-solving purposes and to have experience with ProPresenter, Ableton, Lightkey, and ProLogic.


Church and Community Overview

Christ Community Church is part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination, and are intentionally living into our vision statement to be a church of generous people who honor Jesus, love each other, and serve our neighbors. We have 3 services with about 1100 people participating each weekend. We would describe our church’s worship culture as sincere and responsive and we enjoy the Lord’s presence together when we are gathered for worship.

Rochester, MN is a community of about 150,000 people, home to Mayo Clinic, and consistently recognized as one of the best places to live in the United States.

Education & Experience
  • An undergraduate degree in worship ministries or other creative field is preferred.
  • Strategic and creative leader with 3-5 years of relevant leadership experience.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Effective team builder with high emotional intelligence.
  • Experience in a larger church is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to design effective worship services that are relevant, excellent, intentional, and effective in helping CCC accomplish its mission.
  • Alignment with the Christian & Missionary Alliance and a willingness to pursue licensing.

  • Have a strong, mature, and growing faith in Jesus.
  • Be passionate for and believe in the local church.
  • Be “above reproach” in character and conduct of life.
  • Care deeply about people who do not know Jesus being introduced to Him.

Responsibilities Include
  • Champion the mission and vision of Christ Community Church.
  • Be responsible for leading the Worship & Arts Ministry to an ever-increasing level of engagement and excellence.
  • Develop other worship leaders for the stage.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and coordinate necessary teams and team leaders for all services.
  • Schedule and oversee rehearsals for all teams.
  • Lead worship service planning process.
  • Meet regularly with worship, tech, and arts teams for discipleship, relationship building, planning, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance for kidcity and Impact worship leaders and teams.
  • Assist in additional services held on campus (weddings, funerals, seasonal events – these are pretty minimal).
  • Maintain and upgrade (as needed) sound, music, and video equipment.
  • Create short and long-term plans for maintenance and improvements for all technical equipment.
Staff Relationships
  • The DWA will report to the Lead Pastor and collaborate with the Communications Team and other staff members as needed.
  • The DWA will provide leadership for the Tech Director and Student Impact worship leader.
