Kids Ministry Director
CENTRAL CHURCH
Reports to: Downtown Pastor
Job Type: Part Time (approximately 27h per week)
Job Summary
As our Kids Ministry Director you will have the opportunity to further develop our "Safe Space", a children's ministry where children from often troubled backgrounds are loved and clearly told about Jesus. You will be sharing Jesus with children who, prior to visiting, may never have even heard about Him. The role oversees all aspects of our children's ministry (nursery-6th grade), cultivating a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment for kids and their families. Responsibilities include curriculum planning, event coordination, volunteer development, and parent engagement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum & Programming
    • Working with our main campus, select and implement age-appropriate, biblically sound curriculum for weekly gatherings
    • Ensure lessons are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with church values
    • Coordinate classroom materials and supplies
  • Events & Outreach
    • Plan and lead seasonal events such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), Back-to-School Bash, Christmas programs, and more
    • Collaborate with church staff to integrate kids ministry into broader church life
  • Family & Volunteer Relationships
    • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and caregivers
    • Recruit, train, and support volunteers to serve in various roles
    • Foster a culture of encouragement, accountability, and spiritual growth among volunteers
  • Administration
    • Maintain safety protocols and check-in systems
    • Manage ministry budget and resource allocation
    • Communicate regularly with families and volunteers through email, social media, and in-person updates
