Job description

Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Chrysalis Plant Manager who will be the senior operational leader accountable for the safe, compliant, and efficient day-to-day operation of SHINE's Chrysalis medical isotope production facility. This role owns all aspects of production execution - from raw material inputs through finished product delivery - and serves as the primary operational interface between the facility and SHINE's executive team.

The Chrysalis Plant Manager ensures the facility operates in full compliance with 10CFR regulatory requirements, nuclear safety standards, and SHINE's quality management system, while continuously driving improvements in production yield, uptime, and cost performance. This leader is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, translating strategic objectives from the COO into disciplined daily operations and measurable facility performance.

The base salary range for this position is $185,000 - $250,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Operations and Facility Oversight

  • Own end-to-end production operations at the Chrysalis facility, ensuring all isotope production activities are executed safely, on schedule, and within established quality and cost parameters.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key operational metrics including production yield, equipment uptime, cycle times, and regulatory compliance indicators.
  • Direct day-to-day facility activities across production, maintenance, and quality functions, ensuring operational continuity and adherence to approved procedures.
  • Manage the facility operating budget, identifying and executing cost efficiency opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.

Regulatory Compliance and Nuclear Safety

  • Ensure all facility operations are conducted in full compliance with 10CFR Part 50 or Part 70 regulations, NRC license conditions, and applicable state and federal environmental requirements.
  • Serve as a primary facility point of contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and licensing activities, coordinating responses and corrective action plans in partnership with SHINE's regulatory affairs function.
  • Maintain and enforce a rigorous nuclear safety culture throughout the facility, ensuring all personnel understand and uphold safety-first operating principles.
  • Own the facility corrective action program, ensuring timely identification, documentation, root cause analysis, and resolution of operational deviations and nonconformances.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain document control, procedure compliance, and readiness for internal and external audits.

Supply Chain, Logistics, and Materials Management

  • Oversee supply chain activities supporting facility operations, including procurement of process materials, consumables, and operating supplies required to sustain production schedules.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant transport of radioactive materials and finished product in accordance with DOT and NRC requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support uninterrupted production while managing carrying costs and waste.

Leadership and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Lead a team of functional supervisors and operators, maintaining clear accountability structures, performance expectations, and a culture of operational discipline, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and develop direct reports, providing regular performance feedback and identifying growth opportunities to build a capable, engaged operations team.
  • Serve as the operational voice of the Chrysalis facility to the COO, providing regular performance reporting, risk identification, and escalation of issues with recommended mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure facility operations support product delivery commitments and respond effectively to customer and market requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive operations management experience in a nuclear-regulated facility environment, including demonstrated experience operating under 10CFR Part 50 or Part 70.
  • Proven track record of managing production operations in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment with direct accountability for schedule, cost, quality, and compliance outcomes.
  • Strong working knowledge of nuclear safety culture principles, NRC regulatory requirements, corrective action programs, and quality assurance standards.
  • Experience managing facility budgets and operational cost drivers in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and interface effectively with regulatory bodies, executive leadership, and external partners.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capability, with a bias toward data-driven decision-making and operational rigor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to present complex operational issues clearly to executive leadership and regulatory stakeholders.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., standing or sitting) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move within facility environments, including production areas and access-controlled zones.
  • Ability to comply with all safety and security requirements, including radiation safety protocols and access-controlled areas.
  • Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks associated with nuclear facility operations, which require adherence to safety precautions and protective equipment standards.
  • Ability to handle standard office equipment and materials; moderate physical activity may be required.

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily. If requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job, absent undue hardship.
