Job description

The purpose of Third City Kids is to bring truth and love to the next generation of the Church. The Preschool Teacher position will lead their classroom with 12-16 children, with the help of a Teacher Aide. They will conduct daily lessons, including but not limited to: Bible, academic, social and emotional. 
Essential Job Functions

Leadership
  • Invest in the children of TCCP
  • Attempt to meet the needs of each child
  • Create and maintain an appropriate and nurturing environment
  • Carry out any disciplinary action, if necessary, in accordance with the preschool policy
  • Build and initiate life-changing relationships with kids and their parents, with a consistent focus and reaching the lost.
  • Keep Third City's Mission of LOVEunlimited at the forefront of TC Kids plans and efforts.
  • Work with TC Kids to develop and execute a strategy for partnering well with Third City families to raise Kingdom-minded Christ-followers.

Vision Implementation 
  • Weekly Service: Oversee high communication and interaction with Teacher Aide, parents, guardians, children, and TC Kids Staff (Lead Kids Pastor, Connect Directors, Sun/Wednesday Director, etc).
  • Plans, implements and evaluates programming in accordance with mission, purpose and philosophy set forth by Third City Christian Preschool.
  • Compile a list of supplies to be given to the Preschool Minister for activities, as needed
  • Conduct a 1:1 visit before school begins with each family.
  • Conduct 2 Parent/Teacher Conferences (Fall and Spring).
  • Attend TCCP meetings and monthly TCCC all-staff meeting.
  • Special Events: Work with TC Kids staff to execute special events including, but not limited to: Open Houses, outreach events, Christmas events, graduations, fund raisers, etc.
  • Create and execute goals with the direction of the Preschool Minister to ensure excellence in all TC Kids programming.

Administration
  • Arrival Time: All employees must be at school and ready at least 10 minutes prior to students arriving.
  • Workplace and Work Chat need to be checked regularly during your specific workdays.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and the Preschool Minister.
  • Be a "utility" player for TC Kids when needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Preschool Minister and/or Lead Kids Minister.
  • All employees are responsible for making sure their duties are covered while they are away for any reason.

Education and Experience
  • A degree pertaining to education, family development or ministry is preferred.
  • Must meet State and Licensing Requirements: BA, AA, or CDA or HS Diploma plus 1,500 clocked hours of working directly with children or a written plan with 3 semester hours in Early Childhood to completed in 12 months
  • Must pass all state and local background checks
  • Lesson planning experience preferred but not required
  • Must obtain Safe With You Training, CPR/First and Prepare to Care within 60 days of employment.
  • Participate in 12 hours of professional development each year
