Job description

STATUS: This position is considered part-time (less than 30 hours/week) exempt by the ministerial exception. Monday-Friday (flexible, 28 hours/week).
PRINCIPLE FUNCTION: To provide support to Pastors and Ministry Leaders by assisting in the administrative and ministerial needs of church ministries, facilitating opportunities for the church membership to engage in ministry, and promoting the ministry and mission of the church. This position provides administrative and ministry support to the Adult Discipleship Team, with a primary focus on Connections and Senior Adult ministries. The role combines organizational, communication, and relational responsibilities to help create a welcoming, well-coordinated environment for members and guests.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Basic office skills (making copies, sending emails, answering phone calls).
• Knowledge of the Church's TouchPoint software or experience with similar ministry database programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• A calling to serve God in a church staff position.
• Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Confess to be a born-again Christian and to have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
• Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God.
• Accept the Baptist Faith and Message of the Southern Baptist Convention without reservation.
• Agree to the Code of Conduct of First Baptist Church of Rogers.
• Manifest, by daily example, the highest Christian virtue serving as a Christian role model both in and out of church.
• Become a member of and faithfully attend and support First Baptist Rogers.
JOB DUTIES:
• Provide administrative and ministerial support to the Pastors and Ministry Leaders of the church, with primary support being for the Discipleship Team, and more specifically to the Connections Specialist/Senior Adult Pastor and the Adult Discipleship Team.
Connections Ministry Support
• Coordinate and assist with First Connections membership classes
• Manage scheduling (eSpace), communications, and volunteer coordination
• Oversee logistics such as food, room setup, and promotion
• Track attendance and input participant data into TouchPoint
• Provide follow-up communication with attendees
Senior Adult Ministry Support
• Maintain and update hospital, prayer, and member care lists
• Assist with events (luncheons, trips, concerts, guest speakers)
• Support the Saints Alive choir and coordinate with leadership
• Help facilitate care for homebound, hospitalized, and nursing home members
• Manage records and send appropriate follow-up (e.g., sympathy letters)
Reception & Guest Services Oversight
• Support and guide reception desk volunteers
• Ensure a welcoming, safe environment for all guests and members
• Oversee phone systems, building access, mail handling, and daily activity awareness
• Assist with Welcome Team coordination, scheduling, and hospitality elements
Administrative & Communication Support
• Maintain databases (attendance tracking, reporting, follow-up)
• Assist with budgeting and expense reporting
• Manage communications (website updates, emails, texts, social media, announcements)
• Oversee event management within eSpace
Team Participation & Additional Duties
• Attend regular staff, team, and prayer meetings
• Assist with seasonal events and church-wide initiatives (e.g., rallies, concerts)
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Discipleship Team
• Other duties as assigned to facilitate effective ministry and to fulfill the mission of the church.
• Under the direction of Pastors and Ministry Leaders, assist in the education of the members of the church in the faith by inculcating teachings of the faith and training members to live out their faith and fulfill the mission of the church to make disciples of all nations.
