Job description

Job Title: Retail Guest Associate
Location: Goo Goo Chocolate Co- Downtown Nashville
Reports To: Assistant Store Manager
Exemption Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt
Goo Goo Cluster retail guest associates are responsible for delivering exceptional shopping experience for every guest and assisting the General Manager and ASMs with the daily operations and objective of the store. This position requires a blend of strong communication and customer service skills, food handling and dedication.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
People: Guest Experience and Team Player
  • Provide a pleasant and meaningful experience to each guest personally representing Goo Goo Cluster’s core values and purpose.
  • Excite guests by demonstrating a passion for chocolate production, Goo Goo Cluster’s history, clean working methodology and holding oneself to a high-quality standard.
  • Be a brand ambassador of Goo Goo Cluster by greeting each guest and providing knowledge of history and products sold.
  • Operate the point- of- sale system to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Attend all training/informative sessions aimed at improving and reinforcing knowledge and understanding of company operations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with other team members, when necessary, including but not limited to classes/events and "Make Your Own” MYO operations.
  • Provide integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and purpose of Goo Goo Cluster.
  • Listen to team and guest feedback and report to General Manager and ASM.
  • Set example by demonstrating personal guest service selling skills, meet personal sales goals and motivates team to meet sales goals.
  • Assist with resolving customer questions or concerns with professionalism.
  • Excite guests about their custom creations by demonstrating a passion for chocolate, clean working methodology and holding yourself to a high-quality standard.
  • Never operate equipment without proper training and Knowledge and notify ASM or MOD (Manager on Duty) immediately of any damaged equipment, hazardous conditions, or unsafe behavior.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow standard operating procedures and complete all tasks as assigned by the General Manager. Assist Managers with associate breaks on retail floor and DYO bar.
  • Assist with hands on chocolate making experiences for guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the store, kitchen, retail floor and restrooms by following proper food safety and sanitation standards when handling ingredients and finished products.
  • Acknowledge all guests and be attentive.
  • Interact with guests by assisting them in locating products, demonstrating product features and benefits where applicable, and by offering suggestions and alternatives.
  • Maintain the proper display of products ensuring they comply with store’s image and quality standards.
  • Provide ongoing updates to General Manager regarding guest feedback and complaints.
  • Ensure the daily set up of workstations and equipment are efficiently executed, as well as the end of day general cleaning and daily deep cleaning duties.
  • Monitor quality control of all products and ingredients by following recipes and instructions, tasting product, maintaining proper date-coding procedures, inventory and stock rotation, and proper receiving and storing of delivered goods.
  • Ensure DYO (Design Your Own) area is to health code standards for cleanliness and sanitation set by local and state law.
  • Use safe work practices to eliminate slips, trips and falls.
  • Never operate equipment without proper training and knowledge and notify General Manager immediately of any damaged equipment, hazardous conditions, or unsafe behavior.
Customer Relations: Internal and External Customer Experience
  • Assist in resolving customer inquiries and solutions by notifying MOD within a timely manner.
  • Maintain brand positivity partnerships with team members and management.
Requirements:
  • Must have or obtain Food Handlers Permit and TABC within 30 days of employment.
  • Flexible work schedules including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to follow and execute recipes.
  • Basic mathematics, recipe measurement calculations and data entry capabilities are essential to be successful in this position.
  • Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
