Job Description Summary

La Verne Parent Participation Preschool (LVPPP) is a non-profit,
non-discriminatory family organization owned and operated by member families in the co-op tradition.
Our mission is to create a thriving early childhood education program that deeply respects and nurtures the potential that exists in each individual child, teacher, and family. We strive to create an environment rich in respect, individuality, and that celebrates diversity. Our unique program provides a strong foundation for learning, and actively engages families and the community to provide a positive and nurturing learning environment for each child.
LVPPP is looking for a Director's Assistant who can complete administrative and ancillary tasks to support the Director in managing our preschool programs for over 50 children, ages 1 through 6. As appropriate and within the scope of the Assistant's abilities, the Assistant may support the Director in any and all aspects of managing an early childhood educational institution, including child care licensing, communication with current and prospective families, marketing
The starting pay for this position is $17.00 per hour.
Specific Duties
The Director's Assistant will report directly to the Director and assist with various aspects of managing La Verne Parent Participation Preschool early childhood education programs. All tasks will be performed under the guidance and direction of the Director at all times and may include:
• Auditing, updating, and organizing files
• Answering and returning phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, providing relevant information about the school as appropriate
• Organizing and managing the school's early childhood library
• Ensuring all emergency supplies are current and ready to go
• Creating and uploading social media posts as needed
• Designing and disseminating print marketing flyers as needed
• Providing classroom support to teachers and additional supervision of students as needed
• Soliciting tax-deductible donations for necessary supplies on behalf of the school
• Participating in staff and board meetings and supporting special events as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a current University of La Verne student with Federal Work Study eligibility for the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Provide proof of up-to-date tDap and MMR immunizations, negative TB test and flu shot (if applicable), per childcare licensing requirements
  • Employ strong customer service, clerical, organization, verbal/written communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Listen carefully, follow directions, and think critically
  • Work both independently and collaboratively, depending upon the project
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn
  • Demonstrate proficiency in G-Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar, Slides, etc.)

Benefits Summary
Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan - can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
