Job description

Charles River CFO, Inc. (CRCFO) has an immediate need for a seasoned Interim FT CFO leader with deep community banking experience. This engagement will be up to a year and has the potential to become permanent. The requirement is 35-40 hour per week. The client has a high preference for candidates near Allentown, PA that can be onsite, but will consider hybrid or remote situations for the right candidate. They need someone to stat ASAP.
This role is ideal for an experienced CFO who enjoys stepping in when organizations have immediate, high-impact financial leadership needs.

Key Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • A minimum of eight (8) years' related accounting/finance experience and (5) years in a CFO role.
  • CFO with experience in smaller banks (less than $1M total assets) experience helpful
  • Must be hands on with experience and ability to perform as well as direct
  • Living in the Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton Metropolitan Area/Lehigh Valley a plus
  • Systems: COCC (INSIGHT) banking core / Oracle accounting module
  • Prepare and review financial statements and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, regulators, and examiners; provide requested documentation and support audit and examination processes
  • Oversee and maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational visibility
  • Monitor organizational cash balances, liquidity, and funding requirements; support cash management and treasury activities
  • Review financial transactions and reporting activity to identify variances, risks, or unusual activity and ensure appropriate resolution
  • Review and approve financial reports prepared by accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Oversee accounts payable and financial operations processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial analysis and reserve calculations, as applicable
  • Oversee secure transfer of funds and ensure proper controls and procedures are followed for financial transactions
  • Participate as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to financial strategy, risk management, and organizational planning
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting and performance monitoring
  • Support asset and liability planning, investment oversight, and long-term financial strategy development
  • Coordinate with external partners on tax preparation, compliance, and financial reporting matters
  • Lead or support special financial projects, system improvements, and operational initiatives as needed
  • Implement departmental and organizational financial strategies aligned with overall business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to financial operations and reporting
  • Promote strong internal controls, risk management practices, and operational integrity across the finance function
