Overview

Job Purpose

ICE Data Services, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, presents the unique opportunity for a full-time Relationship Manager to join a team responsible for meeting existing customer revenue retention goals and surpassing sales quotas.  They will be responsible for growing ICE Desktop products by working with key energy and commodities firms in Houston.  The ICE Desktop product suite includes ICE Connect, ICE Options Analytics, and ICE Chat.

This role is ideally suited to a self-motivated individual who relishes being at the forefront of business activities and thrives on their own successes and those of the team. A strong communicator with a good knowledge of energy markets from trading, technology and a networking perspective is required. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for retaining revenue and increasing existing revenue for the ICE Desktop suite of products (ICE Connect, ICE Options Analytics, ICE Chat) within assigned accounts.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of the ICE Connect & Options Analytics platforms, as well as the ICE Chat Pro parsing systems and related workflows.
  • Build durable, high-trust external relationships with existing users and trading managers through demos, trainings and overall support, both online and onsite.  
  • Become a trusted advisor for end-users (primarily traders, analysts, & billing/procurement staff) as well as mid-to-senior managers at client firms (multi-national and state-owned energy firms, global commodity houses, as well as energy trading divisions within banks).
  • Maximize retention and identify selling opportunities within existing accounts through user relationships, account analysis and competitive intelligence.
  • Attend networking events throughout the year. Develop strong connections with decision makers at varying levels within customer organizations.
  • Source leads through intel gathering using industry knowledge.
  • Manage new software feature roll outs for all ICE Connect and Chat applications.
  • Act as a liaison internally between sales, clients, product management and externally among trading desks and decision makers.
  • Collaborate globally with internal teams in Europe, APAC and Middle East. Solve billing issues and drive collections by navigating and interfacing with internal AR teams.
  • Take personal ownership for delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-moving technical environment.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in energy market trading (natural gas, power, Crude Oil, Carbon is a plus), brokerage or clearing experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of market structure & market dynamics related to OTC trading of energy products. Any experience in option portfolio risk is a strong plus as well as knowledge of option pricing theory. Experience in derivative exchange operations a strong plus.
  • Presentation skills; must be comfortable presenting to small groups in a corporate setting.
  • Strong experience using billing systems and related processes.
  • Knowledge of end user licensing agreements language and methodologies.
  • Strong Excel proficiency; requires strong proficiency with large data sets; experience with relational databases is a strong plus. Real-time modeling in live markets a strong plus.
  • Experience navigating internally in a large corporate setting to source subject matter experts across multiple areas.
  • Knowledge of Tableau reporting, Salesforce, and vended market data systems.
  • Strength in improving legacy processes and establishing new processes.
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload is essential. Follow up and diligence in all aspects of work is required.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and drive execution under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and judgement skills.
  • Fluent in English.

Additional Skills 

  • Existing network of contacts and firms in the gas/power/crude oil trading space is a plus.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle, Access) systems is a plus.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Existing network of people and customers at bank FCMs.
  • Experience with middle and back-office workflows.
  • Experience with Chat networks and or Voice brokering systems is a plus.

This role requires in-office 5 days per week.
