Position Overview

Chat and Change Counseling, LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide crucial support to individuals navigating the challenges of trauma. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients' histories and identify appropriate therapeutic strategies.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that target trauma recovery, integrating techniques like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in processing trauma, developing coping strategies, and fostering emotional healing.
• Engage in regular collaboration with psychiatrists and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as necessary, demonstrating agility during trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses and effective coping methods, empowering them with knowledge about available resources.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case documentation, adhering to all legal and ethical standards.
• Participate actively in clinical supervision and professional development activities, ensuring your skills remain current with the latest methodologies in trauma therapy.
• Engage in case consultations and team meetings to foster best practices and shared learning among colleagues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be individuals affected by various forms of trauma, predominantly those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will work with a diverse demographic, including adults and adolescents, and will address a breadth of challenges related to their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and treatment approaches.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.
• Exceptional communication skills and a compassionate, empathetic demeanor that fosters trust and openness with clients.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations, ensuring a calm and supportive environment for clients.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, preferably involving trauma-focused therapy.
• Experience with evidence-based trauma interventions and therapeutic practices.
• A proactive approach to continuing education and familiarization with current best practices in trauma treatment.

Compensation and Benefits
