Chat Home Base information

What is a Chat Home Base?

A Chat Home Base job typically involves handling customer inquiries, providing support, or assisting with sales via online chat from a remote location. Employees in this role communicate with customers through text-based chat systems rather than phone calls. This position often requires strong typing skills, excellent written communication, and the ability to multitask. Many companies offer flexible schedules for this role, making it a popular choice for remote work opportunities.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a Chat Home Base representative?

In a Chat Home Base role, your primary responsibility is to provide real-time support to customers via online chat platforms, addressing inquiries, resolving problems, and guiding users through processes or troubleshooting steps. You’ll often manage multiple customer conversations at once, frequently document interactions in a CRM, and escalate more complex issues to supervisors or technical teams as needed. Collaboration with teammates happens through virtual meetings or internal messaging tools to ensure consistency of service and knowledge sharing. This position requires strong time management skills, focus, and the ability to adapt quickly as customer needs evolve throughout the day.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Chat Home Base position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chat Home Base representative, you need strong written communication skills, proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with live chat software such as Zendesk, Intercom, or Freshdesk is typically required, along with basic computer literacy. Being empathetic, patient, and detail-oriented will help you efficiently address customer concerns and provide a positive experience. These skills are crucial for delivering timely, accurate support in a remote, text-based environment where customer satisfaction is the main priority.

As part of our mission to help individuals recover from substance use disorders, you'll thrive in a supportive, engaging, and fulfilling work environment where your contributions are valued.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is excited to work in an outpatient setting, much like a doctor's office.

To thrive in this role, you must be able to:

  • Monitor behavioral patterns, medical symptoms, and physical symptoms related to dosage, as well as other symptoms related to drug use and mental health concerns
  • Obtain vital signs, blood specimens, and urine samples
  • Process point-of-care urine drug screens per company policy
  • Prepare take-home medication (n/a in Montana)
  • Monitor medication administration closely to prevent diversion
  • Report diversion to proper internal authorities
  • Maintain accurate client records in company's EHR system
  • Document medication errors and respond to adverse medical reactions per company policy
  • Arrange temporary incoming and outgoing courtesy dosing clients
  • Deliver medications to external facilities
  • Order necessary dosing room and nursing-related supplies
  • Maintain accurate medication inventory records
  • Adhere to all federal, state, local, and accrediting body regulations
  • Administer CPR if necessary

Requirements

  • Licensed LPN or RN in state of employment
