Work EnvironmentAssembly line setting, repetitive tasks, team-basedAssembly station, detailed work, quality inspection
Industry UsageAutomotive manufacturing, production linesAutomotive manufacturing, component assembly
Job FocusOverseeing or managing a section of the chassis assembly lineAssembling chassis components, ensuring quality

Chassis Line workers typically oversee or coordinate the assembly process on the production line, focusing on workflow and efficiency. Chassis Assemblers perform the hands-on task of assembling chassis parts, ensuring quality and precision. Both roles are essential in automotive manufacturing but differ in responsibilities and scope.

What is a chassis line?

A Chassis Line refers to a production line in a manufacturing facility where the chassis, or the main structural frame of a vehicle, is assembled. This line is essential in the automotive industry, as it involves fitting together key components such as the frame, suspension, axles, and sometimes the drivetrain. Workers and machines on the chassis line ensure the foundational structure is correctly built before the vehicle moves to further assembly stages. The efficiency and quality of the chassis line are crucial for overall vehicle safety and performance.

Job description

About Talent 101 Inc
Talent 101 is an Engineering and IT services provider, with clients that range from start-up to Fortune 500. We specialize in solutions for the Semiconductor, Automotive, Electronics, Energy, Telecom, and Defense industries.
About the role
Our end client is a leading provider of innovative semiconductor solutions that help enable a smarter, safer, and more connected world. By combining product and technology leadership, deep systems-level expertise, and global manufacturing capabilities, they are able to rapidly solve complex technical challenges and bring advanced solutions to market.
The company serves a broad range of high-growth industries, including consumer electronics, smart home and IoT applications, automotive and electric vehicles, battery-powered devices, network infrastructure, healthcare, and aerospace and defense. Their technologies power next-generation products that improve everyday life and drive innovation across global markets.
Our end client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Defense & Aerospace (D&A) Solid-State Power Amplifier (SSPA) Product Development Team.
This senior-level position plays a key role in the development of advanced RF power amplifier solutions for defense communications, radar, and electronic warfare (EW) applications. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive experience in the mechanical design of RF and electronic circuits, modules, chassis, and line-replaceable units (LRUs) for aerospace and military systems to create innovative, high-performance products that meet demanding customer requirements.
In this role, you will be responsible for translating high-level technical, programmatic, schedule, and cost objectives into detailed execution plans and compliant hardware designs. You will independently drive mechanical design activities, ensuring products meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and qualification requirements.
Success in this position requires strong collaboration and communication skills, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams including RF, electrical, systems, manufacturing, quality, and program engineering, to deliver cutting-edge solutions for mission-critical defense applications.
What you'll do
Lead the mechanical design and development of high-power RF amplifiers, subsystems, and chassis/line-replaceable units (LRUs) from initial concept through qualification, manufacturing, and volume production.
Develop and execute product development plans to ensure that technical requirements, program schedules, and cost objectives are met.
Create innovative conceptual designs and detailed mechanical solutions, while developing and maintaining accurate bills of materials (BOMs).
Design and implement advanced thermal management solutions, including both forced-air and liquid-cooled systems, to ensure reliable operation of high-power electronics.
Perform finite element analysis (FEA) for thermal, shock, and vibration performance of circuit board assemblies, LRUs, and mechanical structures.
Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, design documentation, and BOMs, while conducting tolerance stack-up analyses using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Participate in and lead peer reviews, internal design reviews, and customer-facing technical design reviews to ensure design quality, compliance, and successful program execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years' mechanical design experience of subsystems, chassis/LRUs, circuit card assemblies and interconnects of RF and digital electronics for aerospace and military customers.
  • Must be comfortable working as part of a cross-functional engineering team with open interchange of ideas.
  • Proven ability to work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned technical, schedule, and cost goals.
  • Experience with FEA thermal and structural modeling and analysis; working knowledge of SolidWorks, Ansys, and Flotherm is preferred.
  • Experience with military and aerospace specifications, including environmental requirements (e.g., extreme temperatures, altitude, vibration, shock, salt fog).

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.
This position requires a Security Clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.
Talent101 pays referral fees.
Applicants must be at least 18 years or older, must be willing to take a drug test and background check as part of the selection process and must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Talent 101 is an equal opportunity employer and supports a diverse, inclusive work environment.
