Job description

Summary/Objective: The Stone Polisher at Allied Stone plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process, by manually shaping and polishing finished pieces including complex fabricating work such as lamination. They are responsible for setting up and fine-tuning hand tooling, conducting quality assessments on polished stone products, and ensuring the overall quality and efficiency of the polishing process. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with supervisors and team members to optimize production processes and maintain high standards of craftsmanship.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Operate and oversee stone polishing hand tools (i.e. Grinder) with precision and efficiency.
  • Set up and fine-tune machine settings according to product specifications.
  • Conduct regular quality assessments on polished stone products.
  • Identify and address any defects or irregularities in the polishing process.
  • Load raw materials into the polishing machine and unload finished polished stone products.
  • Follow established material handling procedures to prevent damage or waste.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance requirements.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
