Role Objective

In the Production Leader role leadership, administrative support, and coordination to the assigned production related department is ensured for conformance to schedule and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Utilizes advanced Computer Skills, systems, and software as required to operate efficiently.
  • Meets daily production schedule.
  • Communicates necessary information to support departments and line personnel.
  • Verifies inventory needed for process orders in line specific production staging areas.  Verification in the self-help areas located throughout plant.  Ensures process is followed for current and future orders. 
  • Utilizes staffing requirements to maintain or improve productivity.
  • Assists with orientation and training of all line employees.
  • Performs continuous on-the-job training for multiple skill levels of full-time and temporary associates.
  • Monitors and addresses performance of team members and addresses production non-conformance.  Advises supervisor of situation.
  • Trains, monitors and enforces safety procedures and policies.
  • Monitors the proper counting and recording of components in SAP that are consumed to ensure accuracy, including returns.
  • Maintains line and equipment including the Controlled Environment Suites, by following housekeeping and cleanliness procedures.
  • Maintains proper storage and availability of production supplies.
  • Coordinates machine changeovers and general upkeep of line equipment. Printer set-up and basic operation of FoxJet, Video Jet, Iconotech, and Domino Laser Coder.  Minor troubleshooting is required.
  • Serves as support to other members of the production team, including other production leaders and supervisors.
  • Reconditions product as instructed by a variety of departments.
Education and Experience

High School education with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience in a lead/supervisory role or, Associates/technical degree with two (2) to three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment.

Must be able to use basic measuring equipment, computer, and a calculator.
