Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to lead facilities operations across a group of charter school campuses. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional service delivery, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, budget performance, and customer satisfaction across multiple locations.

The Operations Manager serves as the primary operational leader for assigned accounts, partnering closely with school administrators, vendors, and internal teams to maintain safe, clean, and well-functioning learning environments. Success in this role requires strong leadership, vendor management expertise, financial acumen, and the ability to drive results through people and processes.


Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
  • Lead day-to-day operations across multiple charter school campuses.
  • Ensure service delivery meets contractual obligations, performance standards, and customer expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
  • Resolve operational challenges and escalations with urgency and professionalism.
Vendor Management
  • Manage relationships with various service vendors.
  • Monitor vendor performance, service quality, compliance, and contract adherence.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and hold vendors accountable to established service levels.
  • Coordinate vendor activities to minimize disruption to school operations.
Client Partnership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with charter school leadership and campus stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted operational partner, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Communicate effectively regarding service performance, projects, compliance matters, and operational initiatives.
  • Ensure a high level of responsiveness and customer satisfaction across all assigned accounts.
Financial & Budget Management
  • Manage labor, vendor, and operational expenses within established budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Monitor spending trends and support forecasting, budgeting, and resource planning activities.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and timely submission of operational and financial documentation.
Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop site supervisors and operational staff.
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and a culture of safety and service excellence.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention efforts.
  • Ensure teams are properly staffed and equipped to meet operational requirements.
Compliance & Safety
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, school requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality and safety expectations are met.
  • Support incident response, corrective actions, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Foster a culture focused on workplace safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of multi-site operations, facilities, or service management experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Experience overseeing budgets, labor management, and operational performance metrics.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with operational reporting, inspections, and performance management tools.
  • Experience supporting K-12 schools, charter schools, educational facilities, or commercial facilities environments is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift items of up to 25 lbs. while moving around and perform other physical duties (i.e., climb ladder, lifting, bending).
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of the working time standing and walking.
