Position Summary:
The Charge-Off Collector is responsible for recovering charged-off accounts by negotiating payment arrangements, settlements, and payment plans. This role involves contacting consumers, utilizing skip tracing to locate hard-to-reach individuals, and ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations while delivering professional and customer-focused experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls with consumers and authorized third parties
  • Negotiate payments, settlements, and repayment plans
  • Resolve account issues and address consumer concerns or disputes
  • Use skip tracing tools to locate consumers with outdated contact information
  • Maintain a professional, empathetic, and customer-focused approach
  • Educate consumers on account status and resolution options
  • Recommend accounts for legal review when appropriate
  • Prepare and send account-related correspondence

Requirements

  • Knowledge of FDCPA and collection regulations
