Description

Work From Home position available in the Boise, ID area!  If you have high energy, are metric driven and want to fill a key role with our Invoice to Cash (ITC) team, keep reading!  Central Garden & Pet is searching for a Credit Specialist who will execute processes, policies and solutions to support the Credit processing function of the Shared Services Center. Full time employees enjoy excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, short-term and long term disability, free life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and more!
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Investigates credit risks and follows guidelines for granting credit to customers
  • Recommends new lines of credit and/or the extension of credit limits
  • Negotiates collection arrangements for overdue account balances
  • Handles all levels of accounts from small to more complex and larger accounts
  • Compiles credit data following established company policies and guidelines
  • Performs initial customer setup including reviewing application, bank and credit references, D&B reports, and financial statements
  • Analyzes credit data and financial statements to determine degree of risk
  • Works within deadlines while ensuring accurate policies and procedures are being adhered to
  • Recommends authorizing or disapproving extensions of credit and adjustments to manager
  • Routinely reviews customer credit worthiness and evaluates current credit limits
  • Maintains customer files and makes sure that necessary documentation is received and filed
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships
  • Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • 3-5 years of high-volume corporate credit granting and risk management experience, preferred.
  • Experience in negotiations, customer service and effective delivery of services
  • Knowledge of credit procedures
  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • Experience working with large customer base and in resolving disputes
  • Understanding of internal controls including SOX requirements for  ITC
  • Consumer Products experience, preferred
  • Experience in shared service environment, preferred
  • Knowledgeable with SAP, preferred
  • Ability to partner with Shared Service Center management and provide input into process improvement as well as effective execution and change management within the team
  • Works well in an environment with firm deadlines; results oriented
  • Ability to work in a heavily metric driven organization
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
  • Possess process improvement mindset with a desire to consistently look for ways to improve efficiency and service
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Perform multiple tasks effectively
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Candidate should have the highest integrity and character and possess finance experience and business sense.  
  • Must be able to follow process and collaborate cross-functionally and with 3rd party vendors
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • Must be based out of Boise, ID area
