Job Goal
To provide technical and mechanical support for simulation and lab equipment to ensure equipment is tracked and maintained for optimum performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These requirements are a representation of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as an exhaustive list of specific duties and responsibilities. Management may direct employees to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
  1. Develops a comprehensive equipment and supply tracking system for all labs in the nursing and health programs.
  2. Performs and/or collaborates with IT to complete ongoing updates to equipment software as required to ensure optimum simulator and equipment performance.
  3. Oversees and coordinates maintenance and repair of all nursing and health programs equipment across campuses where nursing and health programs are offered.
  4. Communicates with manufacturers regarding maintenance, repairs and updates, and technology changes.
  5. Submit all contracts/agreements for appropriate approvals per College policies.
  6. Tracks warranties and ensure equipment is maintenance and repairs are done, as necessary.
  7. Sets up and takes down simulation laboratory equipment as directed by Coordinator, Health & Nursing Simulations.
  8. Prepare a realistic simulation scenario through staging, costuming, and moulage.
  9. Collaborates with Program Directors and Lab Facilitators to ensure sufficiency of equipment and supplies.
  10. Supports the Coordinator, Health & Nursing Simulations with faculty training on operation and use of simulators and other lab equipment.
  11. Maintains confidentiality of simulation scenarios and learner confidentiality.
  12. Perform other job-related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONREQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • AA/AS degree in a relevant nursing or health sciences concentration or Computer Science from a regionally accredited institution.
  • 5-years' experience in relevant discipline
  • Current licensure or industry certification as applicable
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) OR
  • Commitment to Complete CHSOS certification within 2 years of hire

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS,&ABILITIES
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Computer/technological literacy to run simulators and inventory software as well as basic troubleshooting
  • Maintain a valid Florida driver's license & reliable transportation for travel to campuses as needed
