  • Location: Forsyth Medical Center - Winston Salem, NC
What You'll Do
The Emergency Department Behavioral Health Certified Nursing Assistant (ED BH CNA) provides direct patient care and safety support for behavioral health patients within the Emergency Department. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the ED BH CNA assists with activities of daily living, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, performs continuous observation of assigned patients, and supports the interdisciplinary team in the management of patients experiencing psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral crises. The role requires strong communication skills, compassion, vigilance, and the ability to respond appropriately in high-acuity and rapidly changing situations.
What We're Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: 1 year of Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living, required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Completion of NAI program, required.
    • Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, required.
    • Medication Safety - AME, required.
    • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Basic computer skills for documentation.
