Senior Project Manager - Clinical & Diagnostic Systems
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the delivery and enhancement of mission-critical diagnostic and ancillary technology systems across a healthcare organization. This role will lead complex initiatives supporting Radiology, Pathology, and Cardiology, with a focus on strengthening diagnostic workflows, system reliability, and clinical efficiency.
This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence in Ventura, CA approximately 1-3 days per week to collaborate directly with clinical and operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of clinical and ancillary system implementations, upgrades, and optimizations
  • Coordinate closely with Radiology, Laboratory, Cardiology, Nursing, and IT leadership to align technology initiatives with clinical workflows
  • Manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, and dependencies for multi-vendor healthcare IT initiatives
  • Oversee system cutovers, testing cycles, and go-live activities in highly regulated clinical environments
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and clinical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and adoption readiness
  • Apply appropriate delivery methodologies, balancing structured SDLC approaches with Agile practices as needed

Required Qualifications
Education & Credentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Radiologic Sciences, or a related discipline
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification strongly preferred

Professional Experience
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible project or program management experience
  • At least 5 years delivering healthcare IT initiatives, including hands-on involvement with ancillary or diagnostic department systems
  • Preferred experience leading or supporting enterprise PACS implementations or migrations

Technical & Functional Expertise
  • Clinical Systems Integration: Proven experience integrating diagnostic and ancillary applications with enterprise EHR platforms, ideally Oracle Health (Cerner)
  • Program & Financial Governance: Strong command of scope control, risk management, vendor coordination, and budget oversight for complex healthcare projects
  • Project Tooling: Proficiency with enterprise portfolio and project management platforms such as ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Planview, or similar tools

Core Skills & Competencies
  • Clinical Partnership: Ability to work effectively with Radiologists, Pathologists, Cardiologists, Lab Managers, and Nursing leadership
  • Hybrid Delivery Leadership: Comfortable managing infrastructure-heavy initiatives using Waterfall while supporting iterative configuration and testing through Agile methods
  • Independent Execution: Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal direction in fast-paced hospital environments while maintaining accountability and transparency
  • Communication & Influence: Clear, confident communicator capable of aligning diverse stakeholder groups around shared delivery goals
