Description
CERAMIC TILE INSTALLER
MADISON, WI
We are seeking a qualified Ceramic Tile Installer for residential tile installations in Dane County and surrounding areas.
This position is responsible for all aspects of tile installations.

Duties:
  • Pick up installation paperwork and materials at warehouse
  • Drive to various job sites
  • Carry tools to job site
  • Carry product to job site
  • Ventilate the work area as much as possible
  • Move and replace furniture
  • Tear out old
  • Clean up the area immediately after the old one is removed. Prepare area for tile installation
  • Make sure area is smooth; Apply plywood or Masonite and waterproofed, if needed
  • Inspect surface to be covered to ensure that it is firm and dry
  • Cut and shape tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces/corners
  • Use hand and power cutting tools
  • Mix, apply, and spread plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to form a bed for the tile to adhere to using a brush or trowel
  • Align, straighten, and level tile using levels, squares, straightedges, and/or spacers
  • Let completely set; dry
  • Finish and dress the joints with grout
  • Wipe excess from tiles using damp sponge

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma is required; some college preferred
  • Must show proficient knowledge of tile installation; 3-5 years minimum
  • Must possess the proper tools for installation
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to retain bending and/or squatting position consistently (60% of the time)
  • Ability to retain position on hands and knees (60-70% of the time)
