Role Description:
The full-time Registry Apprentice position is ideal for new ODS-Cs with no abstracting experience who would benefit from one-on-one mentoring and training. In this role you will receive unprecedented support and education from Savista's Cancer and Clinical Registry Services Division's (CCRS) Education and Quality Assurance (QA) team who are dedicated to your success. In addition, you will:
  • Have direct access to and support from CCRS Education and QA while completing all training program assignments.
  • Increase your abstracting knowledge and skills with confidence.

Role Requirements:
Savista colleagues are dedicated professionals who love to learn and grow. The ideal Registry Apprentice candidate will meet the following criteria:
  • ODS-certified, Less than 6 months' abstracting experience OR more than 6 months' experience but exposure to fewer than 5 primary sites.
  • Passing score on the Registry Apprentice pre-employment assessment.
  • Knowledge in the use and application of standard cancer registry manuals and resources.
  • Able to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
  • Experience with various e-mail and business software applications.
  • Have a true desire to learn in a systematic and collaborative manner.

Preference will be given to those candidates who meet the criteria above, and who also have the following:
  • Recent experience in non-abstracting registry work such as casefinding or follow-up.
  • Other healthcare license or experience.
  • Worked in a CoC and/or SEER facility.
  • Remote work experience.

Savista is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $22.00 to $25.00 per hour. However, specific compensation for the role will vary within the above range based on many factors including but not limited to geographic location, candidate experience, applicable certifications, and skills.
