Job description

Overview:

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Cisco UC Engineer to support modernization efforts. This position will be located in Langley AFB in Hampton, VA and will be a full-time onsite position.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled Cisco Unified Communications (UC) Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise collaboration and voice solutions. This role is responsible for maintaining high‑availability UC platforms, delivering reliable voice and video services, and ensuring seamless communication across the enterprise. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Cisco UC technologies and thrives in fast‑paced, mission‑critical environments.
 
• Design, configure, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications solutions, including CUCM, Unity Connection, Cisco IM&P, and Webex platforms
• Support enterprise voice, video, and collaboration services including SIP, QoS, call routing, and dial plan management
• Manage Cisco gateways, SBCs, and voice gateways (CUBE, ISR/ASR platforms)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to call quality, call routing, voicemail, conferencing, and device registration
• Deploy and support Cisco Jabber, Webex devices, and Room/Desk systems
• Perform UC upgrades, patching, clustering, and system integrations
• Collaborate with networking, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal UC performance and security
• Develop and maintain documentation including system diagrams, configuration standards, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Provide technical guidance and support to operations teams and end users
• Assist with capacity planning, performance analysis, and UC system optimization
Qualifications:

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required:TS/SCI
  • Strong experience with Cisco UC technologies: CUCM, Unity Connection, IM&P, Expressway, Webex 
  • Solid understanding of SIP, RTP, MGCP, QoS, and VoIP protocols 
  • Experience with Cisco CUBE, voice gateways, and SRST configuration 
  • Proficiency with dial plan design, call routing, and numbering plans 
  • Familiarity with video conferencing systems and multi-site collaboration solutions
  • Experience with hybrid environments and enterprise IT solutions   
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+,CND

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to document systems, configurations, and standards clearly
