Job description


RH is seeking a Production Designer to support the creation and execution of our Sourcebook, ensuring the highest standards of design accuracy, consistency, and craftsmanship across every page. This role will partner closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Designers, Copywriters, and Production teams to bring concepts to life through meticulous layout production, asset management, and prepress preparation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about design, with experience working in fast-paced, high-volume publishing, catalog, or editorial environments.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute and maintain Sourcebook layouts, ensuring consistency with RH's brand standards, typography, and design aesthetic
  • Translate creative direction into production-ready files while preserving design integrity throughout all stages of development
  • Collaborate with Creative, Editorial, Photography, and Merchandising teams to ensure accurate and timely integration of content
  • Prepare, organize, and manage production files for print, ensuring all assets meet technical specifications and quality standards
  • Review layouts for accuracy, consistency, and completeness, performing thorough quality control checks throughout the production process
  • Manage image placement, typography, pagination, and version control across multiple Sourcebook sections and revisions
  • Coordinate with external print vendors and prepress partners to support proofing, color accuracy, and final file delivery
  • Maintain organized file structures, asset libraries, and workflow documentation to support efficient production processes
  • Support the development and refinement of production workflows that improve efficiency while maintaining exceptional quality
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to meet critical deadlines in a high-volume production environment

OUR REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years of experience in production design, print production, editorial design, catalog production, or a related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, prepress requirements, color management, and file preparation
  • Experience working with large-format publications, catalogs, magazines, or editorial layouts preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledge of typography, layout principles, and production best practices
  • Experience with digital asset management systems and workflow tools is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequent sitting or standing at a computer workstation for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive use of hands and wrists for keyboarding, mouse use, and design production tasks
  • Occasional lifting, moving, or carrying of materials up to 20 pounds
  • Visually review layouts, imagery, typography, and production files with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
