Description

Position Objective

The primary role for this sales position will be the acquisition, disposal, marketing, and information management of Allied Equipment in MacAllister’s Rental Services rental fleet. In addition to orchestrating the disposal of used units in the rental services fleet, this job will act as a liaison between the various sales groups of MacAllister to further its efforts to create a “cascade” of used allied products in Indiana and beyond.

Essential Position Duties

  • Support All Sales Representatives by being a point of contact in their efforts to sell Rental Services used allied equipment. This includes passing leads with ample information to the appropriate Sales Reps, as well as researching and representing any item in our used inventory.
  • Work with Rental Management to establish pricing and timing of Rental Service roll-out of used Allied Equipment
  • Work with CAT and Machinery Trader to keep advertisement and information of used allied equipment current and accurate.
  • Act as main purchasing agent for all Allied Equipment for the CAT Rental Store
  • Build relationships with outside vendors dealers to coordinate the sale used allied equipment.
  • Coordinate with all Rental Services Branches to update any changes in hours, condition, specifications, and availability of Rental Services Used Allied Equipment.
  • Develop and assist in the creation and management of processes to further Rental Services used equipment revenue and profitability.
  • Maintain existing CAT dealer and Equipment Broker relationships, while striving to constantly expand MacAllister’s network of customers with which to buy and sell used equipment.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business preferred, marketing or related field or the equivalent in direct industry experience. High School Degree Required.
  • High ethical standards and conduct.
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to discuss components and capabilities with customers.
  • Capable of running all types of construction equipment as well as inspecting equipment to verify current condition.
  • Dedicated self-starter with the ability to work independently without the need for daily direct supervision and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills and listening skills.
  • A team player possessing the ability to professionally work with customers, vendors, peers and co-workers as well as the ability to develop strong, long term relationships.
  • Strong customer service skills and a thorough understanding of Price, Quality and Turnaround principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple situations and priorities simultaneously, guiding each situation from beginning to end to the desired positive outcome.
  • A working knowledge of the Caterpillar product line. This includes attachments.
