Job description

Employment Type:Part timeShift:Rotating ShiftDescription:Serves as a resource for the case management staff aiding in the coordination of patient dispositions by providing administrative support to both the acute care RN/SW Case Manager and the Utilization Nurse.

This is PRN (as needed) position. mainly for weekends with maybe 1-2 days during the week

Position Requirements:

Must exercise a high degree of initiative and independent decision-making qualities in carrying out duties. Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy required, as well as integrity and respect involving all matters of a confidential nature.

Knowledge: Must have a working knowledge of Hospital and department personnel policies and procedures. Should have a general understanding of admissions, management information systems, medical records, insurance, and patient billing process. Knowledge of medical terminology necessary. Knowledge of payer sources and managed care contract terms desirable.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Coordinates the communication of incoming information- telephone calls, voicemails, fax, mail, etc Document in Trinity approved Electronic Medical Record -EMR.

Assist with payor communication and completion of referrals to post-acute service providers.

Timely follow up on communication with insurance payors and post-acute service providers.

Issue Medicare Important Message Letters Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior. Establishes and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

Administrative duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure

Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A

Education: High School graduate

Associate degree in Medical Technology, Business or Healthcare Preferred

Experience: 1-2 years of in health-related field.

Strong organization and prioritization skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including telephonic and electronic. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Computer Skills:
