The Cardiology Technician Non-Invasive provides clinical support by performing non-invasive cardiology procedures and remote cardiac monitoring, as directed by licensed personnel. This position communicates and documents patient care needs to the Healthcare team. This position also participates in patient and family teaching.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Make appropriate accommodation to lead EKG tests, such as perform right sided EKG for suspected right ventricular infarct.
  • Oversee the use of EKG equipment ensuring safe operation.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report non-functioning equipment, as appropriate.
  • Assist with the administration of cardiac stress testing for exercise and pharmacological stress testing.
  • Apply cardiac rhythm monitoring equipment.
  • Holter monitor/event monitors and ambulatory mobile telemetry monitors.
  • Educate patient and family on the function and process of EKG exams prior to the test.
  • Log and review test data, and identify and report critical results to providers, noting specific images and placing on test results for physician review.
  • Perform quality improvement activities for the department.
  • Provide patient guidance using comforting language and effective phrasing, to help patients to remain calm and relaxed during the process.
  • Prepare images and data in a preliminary report in designated reporting system, such as cardiology PACS or EMR system prior to physician reading the study.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required High School Diploma/GED
  • Required withing 90 days of hire Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - American Heart Association
  • Preferred Associate's Degree
  • Preferred Certificate
  • Preferred 1 year Non-invasive Cardiology Tech
  • Preferred within 90 days of hire Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT)
  • Preferred Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
