Ashland Garage is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Service Writer to join our team in Ashland, VA. This is a full-time position ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized, and thriving in a fast-paced automotive environment.
As the primary point of contact for our customers, the Service Writer plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, clear communication between customers and technicians, and an exceptional service experience from start to finish.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls and assist customers with service inquiries
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Create detailed work orders and communicate repair needs with technicians
  • Provide repair estimates and obtain customer approvals
  • Order parts and manage warranty/return processes
  • Open and close the shop following established procedures
  • Process payments and batch credit card transactions
  • Maintain accurate customer records
  • Generate basic daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and build lasting relationships
  • Support a positive, team-oriented work environment

Qualifications
