Job description

Sun Valley is looking for an organized, efficient Accounting Clerk with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy. This role will be responsible for preparing financial reports, issue checks and making deposits, and ensuring that Accounting office operations are running smoothly.

Duties & Responsibilities:   

  • Processing cash deposits, making change orders for cashier banks, balancing the vault, preparing bank deposits, assisting with weekly cash machine and ATM deposits, and auditing cashier banks.
  • Maintaining accurate records of cash transactions, sorting credit card and room charge receipts, and researching guest disputes and inquiries.
  • Monitoring cash machine funds, setting up and training employees, and resolving errors and jams.
  • Assisting with daily audits by pulling reports and uploading data to a centralized system, maintaining spreadsheets, and reconciling revenue, cash overages and shortages, and other discrepancies.
  • Entering accounts payable and accounts receivable for condo associations and preparing bank deposits.
  • Maintaining daily spreadsheets, researching credit card disputes and chargebacks, and processing travel agent commissions.

Qualifications:     

  • Accounting degree preferred, and/or at least 1-2 years + of relatable work experience in accounting

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage cash effectively, have strong attention to detail, organized, ability to identify and resolve discrepancies

  • Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and other relevant software, intermediate experience with excel

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, strong communication skills
  • Capable of safely lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
