Job description

Why join us

Brex is the intelligent finance platform that enables companies to spend smarter and move faster in more than 200 markets. By combining global corporate cards and banking with intuitive spend management, bill pay, and travel software, Brex enables founders and finance teams to accelerate operations, gain real-time visibility, and control spend effortlessly. Brex’s AI-native automation and world-class service eliminate manual expense and accounting tasks for customers so they can focus on what matters most. Tens of thousands of the world’s best companies run on Brex, including DoorDash, Coinbase, Robinhood, Zoom, Plaid, Reddit, and SeatGeek.

Working at Brex allows you to push your limits, challenge the status quo, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry. We’re committed to building a diverse team and inclusive culture and believe your potential should only be limited by how big you can dream. We make this a reality by empowering you with the tools, resources, and support you need to grow your career.

Product at Brex

The Product team is at the forefront of Brex's mission to empower employees anywhere to make better financial decisions. With a deep understanding of the business, we identify and scope the most impactful opportunities for Brex to tackle. We align cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Design—on key decisions, set strategy, and drive products from inception to launch.

What you’ll do

Card is a core Brex revenue engine. As Staff Product Manager, you will own the strategy for operational spend, finding portfolio-level opportunities across infrastructure, product, and customer workflows that move more critical spend onto Brex.

You will shape intelligent purchasing-card experiences for critical vendors and operational workflows. Your scope spans issuance, lifecycle, authorizations, controls, servicing, and economics—connecting payment fundamentals to differentiated customer experiences.

This scaled-growth role has direct commercial impact. You will align Card Infrastructure, Spend Provisioning, and customer-facing teams to grow card volume and recurring revenue while improving authorization performance, reliability, and customer trust.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in either our San Francisco, Seattle, or New York office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!

Responsibilities
  • Own the card-program strategy for operational spend.
  • Find portfolio-level opportunities to grow card volume, share of wallet, and recurring revenue.
  • Build purchasing-card experiences for critical-vendor and operational-spend workflows.
  • Connect issuance, authorizations, controls, servicing, and economics into one strategy.
  • Use AI to monitor program health, anticipate issues, prevent avoidable declines, and automate routine servicing.
  • Align Card Infrastructure, Spend Provisioning, Risk, Operations, Engineering, Design, and GTM on cross-stack execution.
  • Grow the portfolio without compromising authorization performance, reliability, economics, or trust.
  • Own card volume, recurring revenue, authorization performance, reliability, and workflow adoption.
Requirements
  • A track record of growing a scaled product, revenue portfolio, marketplace, or financial system.
  • Exceptional quantitative judgment across cohort, portfolio, behavioral, and economic metrics.
  • Material impact on payment volume, transactions, revenue, balances, or another scaled metric.
  • Strong systems thinking across infrastructure, operations, economics, and customer experience.
  • Concrete judgment about how AI can improve workflows and system performance.
  • Ability to lead multiple workstreams without reducing strategy to a feature roadmap.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and influence across technical, operational, risk, and commercial teams.
  • Card or payments experience is valuable; strong scaled-growth experience in an adjacent financial product can substitute.
Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $240,000 - $300,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
