Description

Flexo Operators: Premium Label Work, Modern Equipment, Real Growth

We are actively filling 2nd shift and weekend shift openings, and give strong preference to candidates available for those schedules.

Cursive manufactures labels and shrink-sleeve packaging for some of the best-known consumer brands in the country. We've rebuilt the label manufacturing model around automation, smart processes, and a lean team of people who know their craft.

We think big, move fast, and challenge the status quo. If you're a flexo operator who's tired of running the same tired equipment, come see what a modern plant looks like.

The Role

We're hiring a full-time Converting Machine Operator to run narrow-web flexo and digital finishing equipment producing pressure-sensitive labels and shrink sleeves for wine & spirits, health & beauty, and food & beverage brands.

This is skilled work with visible impact. You'll handle your own make-readies, own quality on your runs, and have a direct line to the supervisor and scheduler when something needs to change.

Location note: This position is based at our Mason, OH facility (8467 Duke Blvd) - roughly 21 miles and a 25-30 minute drive straight up I-71 from downtown Cincinnati. Free on-site parking, no downtown traffic, and no garage fees.

Requirements

What You'll Do

Operate narrow-web flexographic presses and digital finishing equipment producing labels and shrink sleeves

Perform your own make-readies and setups: plate mounting, die changes, register, tension, and impression

Prepare and stage tooling, plates, inks, and substrates ahead of each run

Monitor print quality, color, registration, and embellishment consistency against customer specifications

Run digital embellishments including embossing, hot stamp, cold foil, and screen print

Flag work order issues, quality concerns, and production variances to the Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and Scheduler

Train and support newer operators and helpers

Contribute to R&D trials and process improvement initiatives

Accurately record shop floor and production data

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all safety procedures

Support team objectives, including helping outside your primary role when the floor needs it

What We're Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 1 year of press or machine operation experience in printing, converting, or related production

Flexographic press experience strongly preferred; narrow-web label experience ideal

Familiarity with digital embellishments (embossing, hot stamp, cold foil, screen print) preferred

Hands-on experience running ABG and/or Digicon equipment is a significant plus

Shrink-sleeve converting experience preferred but not required

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Proactive problem-solver who catches issues early

Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Growth mindset with a desire to learn and improve

Availability for 2nd shift or the weekend shift strongly preferred

Shift Schedule

We run four-day weekday shifts and a three-day weekend shift, so every schedule here comes with at least three consecutive days off:

1st shift - Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Three-day weekend, every week.

2nd shift - Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Three-day weekend, every week, plus a shift differential.

Weekend shift - Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Full-time hours in three days, four days off every week, plus a shift differential.

A shift differential is paid for 2nd shift and the weekend shift. We are currently prioritizing candidates available for either of those schedules - please note your availability when you apply.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted

Ability to stand or walk for extended periods

Ability to work safely around moving equipment in a moderately loud production environment

Visual acuity to distinguish color, detail, and print quality

Why Join Cursive

Highly competitive compensation based on skill and experience

Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, STD, LTD, and 401k)

Join a well-capitalized, fast-growing company disrupting the packaging industry

Real career growth and advancement opportunities

Lean, collaborative team where your contributions truly matter

Work with world-class consumer brands

Modern, state-of-the-art production environment

Performance-driven culture that recognizes effort, skill, and results
