Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) leads Elixirโ€™s overall marketing strategy and go-to-market execution to drive growth, strengthen market position, and accelerate revenue. As a member of the executive leadership team, the CMO translates business objectives into impactful marketing programs that build brand awareness, generate demand, and support customer acquisition and expansion. This role collaborates with leadership across Sales, Alliances, Product, Engineering, and Finance to ensure marketing initiatives are strategically aligned, scalable, and performance-driven. The CMO will play a pivotal role in driving marketing excellence that supports Elixir's next phase of growth and market expansion.

Essential Functions
  • Build, lead, and actively participate in a growing marketing organization, balancing executive-level strategy with hands-on execution across priority marketing initiatives; hire, develop, and coach team members; establish performance standards and accountability; foster innovation and excellence; and serve as a Security Designate.
  • Own and execute an integrated marketing strategy that supports corporate objectives, revenue goals, company OKRs, and enterprise go-to-market priorities across strategic marketing, product marketing, brand management, demand generation, partner marketing, sales enablement, analyst relations, digital experience, and marketing technology.
  • Serve as a highly visible external voice and product evangelist for Elixir, leading public relations, media engagement, customer and partner storytelling, speaking opportunities, industry events, and market-facing communications that build brand credibility, strengthen category leadership, and increase awareness of Elixirโ€™s products, value proposition, and market perspective.
  • Partner with leadership across Alliances, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Finance to assess organizational capabilities, identify strategic gaps, and ensure marketing plans are aligned with business strategy and resource allocation.
  • Develop, refine, and personally contribute to market positioning, messaging frameworks, customerโ€‘centric value propositions, and vertical market narratives that translate complex product capabilities into clear, differentiated stories for ideal customer profiles, strategic partners, and target segments.
  • Plan and execute multiโ€‘channel demand generation programs that drive measurable pipeline contribution, including events, digital marketing, website optimization, SEO/SEM, campaign development, brand presence, and performance reporting.
  • Conduct and apply global market research, customer insights, competitive intelligence, benchmarking, and vertical analysis to support marketing strategy, alliance development, sales effectiveness, pricing and packaging decisions, and product roadmap planning.
  • Lead product marketing and goโ€‘toโ€‘market alignment in partnership with Product, Alliances, Sales, and Finance, supporting product adoption, customer expansion, longโ€‘term value realization, enterprise cloud software pricing, partner pricing, tiered services, support models, packaging, bundling, and competitive differentiation.
  • Build and execute partner marketing programs in collaboration with Alliance leadership, including partnerโ€‘facing assets, coโ€‘marketing strategies, joint campaigns, joint events, enablement approaches, partner value propositions, success metrics, and repeatable demand generation motions.
  • Maintain and optimize a comprehensive Martech stack that enables Alliances, Sales, and Marketing to achieve customer acquisition and expansion goals; integrate advanced data analytics into platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, and digital properties; and use KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive category marketing, brand awareness, thought leadership, analyst relations, and market visibility initiatives, including strategic engagement with analyst firms such as Forrester, Gartner, Aspire, IDC, and others.
  • Create, review, and improve sales and partner enablement materials, campaign assets, messaging documents, presentations, and performance insights to support customer acquisition, expansion, and revenueโ€‘aligned collaboration across business functions.

Adopt Elixirโ€™s mission and culture: At Elixir, weโ€™re about more than technology. Weโ€™re about people. Our goal is to revolutionize how brands connect with customers on a human level. Elixir is a customerโ€‘first, peopleโ€‘centric, transโ€‘continental team with heart. Being multicultural is part of our DNA. Itโ€™s something weโ€™re proud of. It brings different points of view and multiple advantages to every innovation we bring to life.

Competencies
  • Executive marketing leadership with the ability to set strategy, align stakeholders, and translate corporate objectives into measurable marketing plans.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, hiring, performance management, and teamโ€‘building skills in a growing marketing organization.
  • Revenueโ€‘oriented marketing judgment, including demand generation, pipeline contribution, customer acquisition, customer expansion, campaign performance, and marketing ROI.
  • Crossโ€‘functional collaboration and executive influence across Sales, Alliances, Product, Engineering, Finance, and other business functions.
  • Executive communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to simplify complex technology, create compelling narratives, and produce effective sales, partner, and marketโ€‘facing materials.
  • Adaptability, resourcefulness, and comfort operating in a handsโ€‘on, highโ€‘growth environment where priorities may shift and scalable processes are still being built.
Travel

Quarterly travel to customers, partners, and industry events including trade shows, conferences, and speaking engagements. Regular presence at Elixir's Ojai headquarters is expected, with relocation to the Ojai area after six months.
