POSITION SUMMARY:


Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the mechanical operation, maintenance, and performance of Draw-Redraw (DRD) food can manufacturing equipment across multiple facilities. Provides hands-on support, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for DRD production lines to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and product quality.


This role acts as a shared mechanical resource supporting operations in the United States and Mexico, with travel up to approximately 30%. The Senior Draw Press Mechanic partners closely with plant leadership, maintenance teams, and operators to resolve complex equipment issues, implement best practices, and ensure optimal machine performance.


This position is highly autonomous and suited for a senior-level, hands-on mechanical expert with extensive DRD draw press experience.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


ยท Serve as the companyโ€™s mechanical expert in Draw-Redraw (DRD) can manufacturing equipment

ยท Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of DRD production lines, including cupping, body making, redraw, and associated equipment

ยท Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, tooling, and equipment-related issues impacting safety, quality, and productivity

ยท Monitor equipment performance and ensure machines operate within specifications and quality standards

ยท Execute and support preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve reliability

ยท Partner with plant maintenance and operations teams to identify root causes and implement practical, sustainable solutions

ยท Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new or rebuilt DRD equipment and tooling

ยท Establish and standardize maintenance and operating best practices across facilities

ยท Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation

ยท Train and mentor maintenance technicians and operators on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and proper maintenance techniques

ยท Evaluate tooling condition and performance, making adjustments and recommendations as needed

ยท Travel to manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Mexico (approximately 30%) to provide on-site, hands-on support

ยท Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive equipment reliability and operational performance

ยท 10+ years of hands-on mechanical experience in DRD (Draw-Redraw) food can manufacturing required

ยท Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

ยท Prior experience with leading can manufacturers or OEMs preferred
