Job Description: General Manufacturing Associate

If you are mechanically included, can work safely and efficiently as part of a team and are looking for an opportunity to grow, a role as a Fisher Barton General Manufacturing Associate might be for you. General Manufacturing Associates learn skills in one or more Production areas โ€“ such as: packaging, warehouse, straightening, broaching, facilities, and grit blasting. This role is a great introduction to Production at Fisher Barton. At Level 1, You will:

  • Produce, inspect, or package product following work instructions
  • Ensure materials are labeled and packaged properly
  • Accurately complete daily production and quality paperwork
  • Enter data into the computer systems on time
  • Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of working areas
  • May operate forklift and/or overhead crane to safely move materials
  • Warehousing/Packaging Associates may also proper lifting equipment to load and unload materials and/or pallets from trailers or designated storage units

At Level 2, You will also:

  • Perform Safety audits
  • Maintain safe working conditions in area of influence, documenting and correcting acts or conditions
  • Participate on 8D/Root Cause/Problem Solving Teams
  • Participate in corrective actions, and completing accident investigations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and operation sheets necessary to perform production operations
  • Perform machine setup/changeover
  • Measure part features, checking, and inspecting machining operations and finished product using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparators, and others
  • Monitor and control quality of production pieces by adjusting machine and/or tooling
  • Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements as necessary
  • Perform troubleshooting to identify issues and address as required
  • Perform operator maintenance and/or housekeeping per established schedules
  • Create NCR reports when the product doesnโ€™t meet our standards
  • Enter accurate time and job information into Epicor
  • Write and updating work instructions
  • Train team members in your area(s)
  • Provide or direct training of new personnel, ensuring that proper training procedures are followed

Required Qualifications:

Required at Level 1:

  • Basic math skills

Required at Level 2:

  • 2 Year General Manufacturing experience or successful performance as a Fisher Barton General Manufacturing Associate 1 team member
  • Proficient in all General Manufacturing Associate 2 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix
  • Able to use basic math to analyze information
  • Experience with computer systems
  • Able to safely operate various manufacturing production machines and equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred at Level 1:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Preferred at Level 2:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 yearsโ€™ or more experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience handling materials
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience with EPICOR
  • Experience with CNC programming is a plus

Physical | Visual Demands:

  • Ability to stand 8-12 hours a day
  • Ability to sit, stand, squat and bend
  • Reach overhead with one or both arms
  • Repetitive movement of lifting and placing parts on machines / up to 15 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds

Shift: 3rd Shift, 10:00pm โ€“ 6:00am, Sunday to Thursday with availability to work overtime
