Job description

Job Title:  Facilities Manager (Mesa Campus)          

Department:  Facilities Management      

Reports to:  Campus Manager DirectorMarketing (dotted line to Lisle Director of Facilities Management)

Status:  Full-Time, Benefit Eligible                

Rate:  60,000 - 68,500 salary                                   

Location:  Mesa Campus            

Position Summary:  The Facilities Manager will be responsible for leading and directing the universitiesdaily facilities management and campus operations. The Facilities Manager will haveoversight of all campus physical plant resources, including all academic,athletic and residential hall buildings plus the grounds and landscape. Theposition will foster a continuously improving culture that results in the mostefficient use of university resources, working collaboratively with the Lislecampus as One University, while delivering superior internal and externalcustomer service.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Organize,and oversee the daily activities of Engineering Services, Housekeeping andEvent Services, and Grounds and Landscaping Services, including establishingand reviewing performance standards, goals, and objectives. Ensure compliancewith Facilities Management procurement processes and procedures for allfacilities-related supplies, equipment, and external contractual serviceproviders. Coordinate with the Director of Facilities Management on the Lislecampus regarding operational processes, procedures, and best practices tosupport physical plant performance. Collaborate with the Director of FacilitiesManagement on the Lisle campus to prioritize, maintain, and annually redefinethe University Deferred Maintenance Program, including supporting the facilitiescondition report and capital spending plan to ensure sustainability of thephysical plant. Ensure Facilities Management service level agreements arefollowed and support efficient processing of facility service requests,inspections, and preventative maintenance activities. Maintain accuratefacility asset inventory records through cycle counts and established inventoryprocedures. Support deployment of the Facilities Management Safety Program andcompliance with federal, state, and OSHA standards to provide a safe workingenvironment for staff. Coordinate with the Director of Facilities Management inLisle and the University Emergency Preparedness Manager and Safety Specialistto maintain required department safety documentation and support compliance forfacility operations, equipment, chemicals, and supplies. Oversee facilityprojects, contract compliance, and quality control while supporting operationalimprovements and efficiencies across campus facilities operations.
2. Collaboratewith the Mesa Campus Manager and Director of Facilities on the Lisle Campus tocreate, manage, prioritize a comprehensive and strategic Facilities Managementbudget, as needed.  Develop effectiveprocurement procedures to optimize and prioritize spending.  Maintain and track payment processing for allfacilities services, including purchase orders, payment requisitions, andinvoice management and retention.
3.  Excellent interpersonal communication andstrong organizational skills are critical to this role. Manage allcommunication for the campus, as it pertains to facilities, and serve as aliaison between campus stakeholders and external consultants while providinghigh customer service. Serves as a liaison between IT on the Lisle Campus forIT needs on the Mesa Campus.
4. Coordinatewith the Office of Information Technology on the Lisle campus to supportestablished IT policies and procedures for the Mesa campus. Serve as theon-site contact for equipment distribution and return in Gillett Hall andAlhambra, including maintaining inventory records, monitoring supplies andequipment, and notifying Lisle IT of equipment needs, issues, or returns.Provide basic coordination and communication support for IT and audio visualrequests for Benedictine and outside groups using the facilities, referringtechnical troubleshooting, programming, and procedural matters to the Lislecampus IT team.
OtherFunctions:
1. Diagnose department and operational issues at their root cause and implement corrective action.
2. Implement new processes, procedures, and technologies in reaction to changing business and/or customer needs. Create daily, monthly, and/or annual analysis reports regarding service requests.
