Job description

The Campground Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily upkeep, repair, and safety of all campground facilities, grounds, utilities, and equipment. This role ensures the property remains clean, functional, and welcoming for guests throughout the season.


Key Responsibilities


Grounds & Facilities Maintenance


  • Maintain common areas including restrooms, showers, laundry rooms, pavilions, and recreational spaces.
  • Complete routine cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking facilities.
  • Inspect and maintain playgrounds, picnic tables, fire pits, and beach or lake areas (if applicable).
Repairs & Preventative Maintenance


  • Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry issues.
  • Maintain water lines, sewer hookups, hydrants, and site utilities.
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as winterizing buildings, opening water systems, and preparing sites for guest arrival.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
Guest Support & Safety


  • Respond to maintenance requests from guests and staff in a timely, professional manner.
  • Assist with site issues such as breaker resets, water leaks, or sewer clogs.
  • Monitor the property for safety hazards and correct them immediately.
  • Support emergency response procedures when needed.
Equipment Operation


  • Operate tractors, mowers, golf carts, skid steers, chainsaws, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Perform basic equipment upkeep such as fueling, greasing, and blade changes.
General Operations Support


  • Assist with setup and teardown for events or activities.
  • Help with trash collection and dumpster management.
  • Support special projects such as landscaping, painting, building repairs, or infrastructure upgrades.
Qualifications


  • Experience in maintenance, groundskeeping, construction, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a guestfriendly attitude.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor.
  • Pool experience is a plus
Work Environment


  • Outdoor, fastpaced, guestfacing environment.
  • Weekend, evening and holiday availability required during peak season.
  • May involve oncall rotation depending on property needs.
