POSITION PURPOSE:

The Campground Maintenance & Groundskeeper plays a key role in maintaining the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the campground community. This position supports the day-to-day upkeep of the property through landscaping, general maintenance, and community inspections while helping create a clean, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for guests and residents. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors, and contributes to a positive campground experience through strong attention to detail and a team-first attitude.

Campground Maintenance & Groundskeeper Responsibilities:


Groundskeeping & Property Appearance

Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and curb appeal of the campground and common areas

Perform mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, weed control, and seasonal grounds maintenance

Operate landscaping equipment including weed eaters, zero turn mowers, blowers, and related groundskeeping equipment

Manage watering systems to support healthy turf and landscaping conditions


Maintenance & Repairs

Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and light electrical repairs

Assist with unclogging drains, HVAC repairs/replacements, and minor roof repairs

Perform basic electrical pedestal troubleshooting and repairs

Assist in the maintenance of manufactured homes, if applicable


Utilities & Site Operations

Assist with propane filling and monitoring in accordance with safety procedures

Assist with sewer system monitoring, sewer readings, and routine sewer plant cleaning and maintenance

Conduct routine property inspections to identify maintenance or safety concerns

Support overall campground operations and site readiness


Guest & Community Support

Patrol the community and maintain positive relationships with guests and residents

Respond to maintenance concerns and communicate professionally with guests, vendors, and team members

Support a clean, safe, and welcoming campground environment


Safety & Compliance

Follow all campground policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment

Adhere to safety guidelines when operating equipment and performing maintenance tasks

Report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or operational issues promptly


Other Duties

Assist with special projects or initiatives as assigned

Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support campground operations

Campground Maintenance & Groundskeeper Qualifications: 

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, maintenance, campground, RV park, or property maintenance experience preferred
  • Experience operating landscaping equipment including weed eaters, zero turn mowers, blowers, and related equipment
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance repairs
  • Experience with propane filling, sewer systems, or utility maintenance preferred
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Ability to identify maintenance and safety concerns and communicate them appropriately
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities
  • Professional and respectful communication skills with guests, residents, vendors, and team members
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and peak campground seasons
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work outdoors for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Basic computer and smartphone proficiency preferred
  • Successful completion of a background check required
