Job description

Position Overview


The Slippery Rock Campground Association is seeking a hands-on, experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support all aspects of campground maintenance operations. The role is responsible for ensuring our facilities, infrastructure, and grounds are safe, efficient, and well-maintained for our members and guests.


This is a full-time, on-call leadership position requiring strong technical skills, team supervision, and the ability to respond to emergencies when needed.


Key Responsibilities


Facilities & Infrastructure

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of:
  • Water systems (wells, pumps, and distribution)
  • Sewer/Septic Systems & Lift Stations
  • Electrical Systems & RV Pedestal Hookups
  • Roads, drainage, and signage
  • Buildings (office, bathhouses, pavilions, shop)
  • Pool & recreational facilities
  • Coordinate with vendors for water, wastewater, and pool testing
  • Maintain work order systems and maintenance logs
  • Respond to emergency repairs (24/7 on-call rotation)
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs


Grounds & Property Maintenance

  • Supervise landscaping, mowing, and tree management
  • Ensure all sites and common areas are clean and safe
  • Coordinate seasonal operations including snow removal
  • Maintain organized equipment and maintenance yard


Staff Leadership

  • Supervise, schedule, and train maintenance personnel
  • Assign and track daily work orders
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Promote a strong safety culture and OSHA compliance
  • Lead regular safety meetings


Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Obtain bids and oversee contractors
  • Ensure quality, timelines, and compliance
  • Coordinate inspections with regulatory agencies


Budget & Asset Management

  • Assist with annual budget and long-term planning
  • Monitor expenses and control costs
  • Track inventory, equipment, and vehicles
  • Recommend capital improvements


Member & Board Interaction

  • Address maintenance concerns profressionally
  • Provide reports and updates as needed
  • Attend Board meetings when requested


Qualifications


Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check & Child Abuse Clearance Check
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all conditions


Preferred

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in campground, RV, park, or facilities maintenance
  • Technical certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc)


Skills & Knowledge

  • Electrical systems (120/240V, RV Service)
  • Plumbing and septic systems
  • Equipment and small engine repair
  • Basic carpentry
  • Blueprint and schematic reading
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Computer proficiency (work orders, email, budgeting tools)


Work Environment
