This position is based at Palermo's headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

You'll spend the majority of your day in our employee café, working alongside your team to ensure smooth daily operations, exceptional customer service, and a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

When you'll work...

This is primarily a 1st shift leadership position, supporting our café operations and day shift team. While your typical schedule will be during first shift, start and end times may vary based on business needs, staffing, training, and operational priorities. Flexibility is important, as you'll occasionally adjust your schedule to support shift transitions, special events, or ensure the café is set up for success.

What you’ll do…

As the Café Assistant Manager, you'll help lead the daily operations of the café while ensuring an outstanding experience for every guest.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the daily operation of the café, including food preparation, service, and customer experience
  • Leading and coaching café team members to deliver exceptional service and food quality
  • Assisting with employee scheduling, daily work assignments, and shift coordination
  • Supporting onboarding and training for new employees
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements
  • Monitoring inventory levels, product rotation, ordering needs, and food cost controls
