Job description

Job Summary:
Our Legal & Claims Practice is comprised of widely-respected industry experts who work in tandem with CAC's brokers to provide expertly-constructed insurance. As a Claims Advocate, you will proactively manage claims and achieve favorable claim resolutions for clients of CAC's Financial Lines, Cyber, and Transactional Liability Practices, to include the following lines of coverage: public and private D&O, E&O, employment practices, cyber, fiduciary, crime, kidnap and ransom, and representations and warranties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide coverage and wording advice to clients and brokers as appropriate
  • Timely and accurately report new claims and circumstances while proactively identifying potential coverage issues that may impact resolution
  • Assist with obtaining insurer consent for counsel and settlements
  • Assist with analysis of reservation-of-rights letters from insurers and drafting of coverage arguments
  • Facilitate client meetings and conference calls with insurers
  • Advocate aggressively on clients' behalf when coverage disputes arise
  • Leverage business relationships and deploy CAC executive leadership as necessary
  • Maintain up-to-date records, including online file maintenance
  • Work closely with producers and broking colleagues to provide claim information for business renewals, client presentations and RFPs
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and insurer claim representatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (paralegal certification or law degree is beneficial)
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience required
  • Risk management designations helpful (RPLU, CPCU, etc.)
  • Strong multitasking & time management skills
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of claims and litigation trends affecting the D&O and EPL market
  • Ability to engage with and present confidently to clients and prospects, as well as internally
  • Ability to identify client needs and provide solutions to address those needs
  • Ability to set realistic client expectations and deliver in a time-sensitive environment
