Kansas Children's Service League is looking to hire a full-time Junior Accountant in Wichita, KS. This position earns a competitive wage of up to $50,000 annually and works a Monday - Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.

Job Summary

Assist in handling day-to-day operations of business office. Prepare journal entries, vouchers, post activity to general ledger, and maintain vendor master. Perform reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers and financial analysis. Track expenses related to funding sources and prepare monthly/quarterly reports as required by the funding source, with analysis of actual to budget variances. Provide support to program staff as needed for financial questions.


Essential Job Functions

General Ledger / Financial Analysis

  • Prepare journal entries, vouchers, and subsidiary ledger reconciliation.
  • Perform financial analysis on various general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with audit schedules.

Grant Reporting

  • Act as liaison between program staff and finance.
  • Oversee funding sources as assigned.
  • Provide reporting as required by grant or funding sources, with analysis of actual to budget variances.


Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 2 years of finance or accounting experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

Preferred

  • Experience with nonprofit accounting and grant management
