Description

The Product Manager Team Lead is responsible for the Product Management team. This commercial product role combines day-to-day product management execution with strategic responsibility for growing the product portfolio. The Product Manager Team Lead converts market and customer needs into manufacturable product specifications, drives New Product Development and lifecycle activities, implements pricing and margin tactics, and coordinates cross-functional teams (sourcing, operations, quality, engineering, sales, and marketing) to deliver results. An engineering degree is not required. Curiosity to learn cable fundamentals and strong financial fluency are essential.


Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Support portfolio strategy by translating market inputs into product priorities and short-term tactical plans.
  • Analyze segment attractiveness and recommend where to invest, expand or rationalize SKUs.
  • Maintain competitive and market intelligence on demand signals, pricing, and supply trends.

Roadmap & Lifecycle Management

  • Maintain and prioritize the product roadmap: define strategy and execute product introductions.
  • Lead New Product Development: interpret customer needs and create requirements, launch checklists, and issue remediation.
  • Manage product lifecycle activities: launch, sustainment, inventory stocking strategy, and end-of-life transitions.

Commercial & Pricing

  • Execute pricing and price/volume tactics: set pricing, execute contracts, structure, and support transactional implementation.
  • Build value propositions and win sheets; support customer quotations and bid responses.
  • Act as product escalation for commercial reps on product, pricing, and application questions.

Operations, Sourcing & Quality

  • Translate customer requirements into specifications, BOMs, and manufacturing-ready documentation with custom cable design engineering and operations.
  • Partner with sourcing to optimize component costs, lead times, and supplier performance; support supplier qualification and      corrective actions.
  • Work with operations and quality to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement efforts.

Financials & Analytics

  • Own product-level margin initiatives and translate financial targets into tactical actions.
  • Build and maintain Excel models, margin analyses, forecasts, and business cases supporting pricing, launch, and cost-down      initiatives.
  • Track product KPIs (revenue, margin, forecast accuracy, OTIF, quality metrics) and run regular reviews.

Sales Enablement & Training

  • Develop sales tools, technical messaging, ROI/cost-benefit analyses, and training materials in coordination with marketing and training resources.
  • Support field readiness for launches and changes; deliver or coordinate product training sessions.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Align cross-functional teams to meet launch dates and business commitments; communicate decisions clearly and build commitment.
  • Serve as the product focal point for internal stakeholders and external customers/partners.

Professional Development / Technical Learning

  • Demonstrate curiosity and aptitude to learn core cable design principles and the value of ruggedized, high-performance cable and assemblies used in abusive environments.

Requirements

Required qualifications

  • 4-8+ years hands-on product management, commercial, or NPI experience in B2B manufacturing, industrial products, or      distribution.
  • Demonstrable experience converting market/customer needs into product specs and manufacturing requirements.
  • Proven experience driving new product introduction and lifecycle management.
  • Strong financial fluency: advanced Excel skills, margin modeling, scenario analysis, and business case development.
  • Cross-functional execution experience with sourcing, operations, quality, and engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder alignment skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; engineering degree not required.
  • Commutable to Macedonia, OH and in-office at least 3 days per week.
  • Willingness to travel ~25% (domestic and occasional international).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong bias for action and extreme ownership mindset.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience specifically in wire/cable, interconnects, or premium industrial hardware products.
  • Engineering foundations and ability to review cable design specifications.
