About this role:

Fuse is seeking a Cable Designer to support development of advanced tactical communications and computing systems for defense applications. This role focuses on cable and harness design, electrical system integration, and documentation development for ruggedized military platforms.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, and interconnect solutions for military systems
  • Create detailed wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and interconnect documentation using SolidWorks Electrical and Visio
  • Define connector selections, pinouts, wire gauges, shielding, and cable routing requirements
  • Develop and maintain cable bills of materials (BOMs), interface control documents (ICDs), and assembly documentation
  • Coordinate cable routing and integration activities within complex electro-mechanical enclosures
  • Work with manufacturing teams and vendors to support fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting of cable assemblies
  • Participate in system integration, prototype builds, and hardware test events
  • Support troubleshooting of cable assemblies and integration issues during system bring-up and testing
  • Support engineering design reviews and customer technical reviews

Requirements

We are looking for:

  • 5–10+ years of experience in cable design, harness development, or electrical integration
  • Advanced experience with SolidWorks Electrical and Microsoft Visio
  • Experience creating wiring diagrams, harness layouts, and electrical interconnect documentation
  • Strong understanding of cable routing, shielding, grounding, and signal integrity principles
  • Experience selecting military-grade connectors, backshells, and cable materials
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and cable fabrication best practices
  • Experience supporting electro-mechanical systems and enclosure integration
  • Strong troubleshooting and integration skills
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline
  • Experience with military or aerospace communications systems
  • Familiarity with TEMPEST, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-810
  • Experience supporting rack-level integration and EIA-310 systems
  • Experience with configuration management and PDM systems
  • Active Secret Clearance
