Job description

Summary
The C208 SIC will perform duties as Second-In Command and is responsible for safe and legal aircraft operation in accordance with FAA regulations and the DST Flight Operations Manual (FOM). Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the captain with flight planning, ATC coordination of special activities, and post flight tasks. The SIC will communicate with customers to ensure a clear understanding of both flight and schedule objectives, with safety being the first priority. The SIC will utilize effective Crew Resource Management techniques and procedures, to include briefing all flight participants on safety and egress procedures prior to flight. The SIC will report any mechanical issues or concerns to the captain (PIC) and appropriate Maintenance Department member. The SIC completes all necessary aircraft administration documents for aircraft time tracking and manifest.
Essential Functions
  1. Pre-flight planning and inspections.
  2. Conduct safe flight operations.
  3. Navigating and flying aircraft.
  4. In-flight monitoring.
  5. Communicating with air traffic control.
  6. Post-flight inspection.
  7. Prompt and regular attendance.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time salaried exempt position, which may include some unusual hours. The length of a work day varies depending on the customer requirements. Days and hours of work fall primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties and customers demand. Expected to arrive at SOP within two hours of call-out.
Travel
Travel may be required as requested by customers. Traveling includes overnight stays outside of the normal working location and at times may be up to two-weeks a month.
Required Education and Experience
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Commercial AMEL, Aircraft Single-Engine Land with Commercial privileges, as well as Instrument Airplane rating.
  3. Minimum TT of 300 hours for C208.
  4. Minimum TT of 500 hours for B350.

Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor's Degree.
  2. Minimum TT of 800 hours for C208.
  3. Minimum TT of 1,000 hours for B350.

Other Hiring Requirements
  1. Valid Driver's License.
  2. U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain/maintain a United States Security Clearance.
  3. Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
  4. Current Passport with unrestricted international travel privileges.
  5. Current FAA First or Second Class Medical.
  6. Veteran Preferred.
