Job description

THE COMPANY:

STACK INFRASTRUCTURE (STACK) provides digital infrastructure to scale the world's most innovative companies. We are an award-winning industry leader in building, owning, and operating highly efficient, cost-effective wholesale, colocation, and cloud data centers. Each of our national facilities meets or exceeds the highest industry standards in all operational categories of availability, security, connectivity, and physical resilience.

STACK offers the scale and geographic reach that rapidly growing hyperscale and enterprise companies need. The world runs on data. Data runs on STACK.

THE POSITION

STACK is seeking a highly capable Business Systems Manager - Workday to join our growing Enterprise Applications team. This role is ideal for a technically strong Workday professional who thrives at the intersection of systems administration, integrations, process improvement, and business partnership.
The ideal candidate combines deep Workday expertise with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to work effectively across HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, and third-party vendors. This individual should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day support responsibilities, and driving continuous improvement across the Workday ecosystem.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own the overall strategy, governance, administration, and optimization of the Workday platform and related HR technologies.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors regarding Workday initiatives and priorities.

  • Develop and maintain the Workday roadmap, prioritizing enhancements, releases, integrations, and process improvement opportunities.

  • Lead Workday configuration, testing, deployment, and change management activities across all supported modules.

  • Establish and maintain governance processes for security, data quality, compliance, reporting, and system administration.

  • Oversee Workday support operations, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective management of service requests.

  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities.

  • Manage Workday releases, feature adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize platform value.

  • Lead cross-functional projects involving HR systems, integrations, data migration, acquisitions, and organizational changes.

  • Develop reporting and analytics capabilities that support strategic decision-making and operational excellence.

  • Manage relationships with Workday, implementation partners, and third-party vendors.

  • Create and maintain system documentation, governance standards, and training materials.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to analysts, administrators, and business stakeholders on Workday best practices.

THE DETAILS
  • Location: Denver, Colorado

  • Travel: Less than 10%

  • Compensation: $140,000 - $155,000

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Must pass comprehensive background screening

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of Workday administration, configuration, or HRIS experience.

  • 2+ years leading Workday projects, programs, or system ownership responsibilities.

  • Experience developing system roadmaps and managing cross-functional initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of Workday security, business processes, reporting, integrations, and data governance.

  • Experience managing vendor relationships and coordinating third-party support resources.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus across business and technical teams.

  • Workday Certification(s) strongly preferred.

THIS MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF
  • You can influence without direct authority and build strong cross-functional partnerships.

  • You enjoy solving complex technical and business problems.

  • You can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

  • You communicate clearly and build strong partnerships across teams.

  • You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.

  • You stay calm under pressure and can prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF
  • You prefer narrowly defined responsibilities and highly structured environments.

  • You are uncomfortable managing support issues, changing priorities, or cross-functional collaboration.

  • You prefer purely functional HR work without technical systems ownership.

  • You struggle with accountability, follow-through, or independently driving work to completion.

Compensation Range:

THIS MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

  • You are a strong communicator, you are persuasive and clear, blending analytics with experience in decision-making.

  • You do not get flustered easily. You can juggle multiple priorities while balancing urgent requests with shifting timelines and deliverables.

  • You are a team builder. You take the time to understand and develop the strengths of your resources while formulating long-term plans for the growth and success of the team.

  • You are naturally curious and driven toward continual improvement. While you celebrate your successes, you take time to review and analyze campaigns for future learning.

WHY STACK?

  • We offer a competitive compensation package with strong benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K program, flexible spending accounts - even a cell phone subsidy.

  • We foster a culture of appreciation, including peer-to-peer recognition and rewards programs.

  • Fun is part of our DNA, with events, game nights, happy hours, and barbecues.

  • We're growing - this is a great time to join and make an impact!
