The Opportunity

The IT Business Systems Consultant role will be responsible for business relationship management support primarily for Revenue Management (Model N system and associated interfaces with various ERPs) and secondarily support other commercial systems tied to Commercial Operations (Contracts & Pricing, Sales, and Training systems) within the Core Diagnostics Global Commercial Excellence organization.

Manage relationships between IT delivery teams and business partners while proactively identifying opportunities to improve business processes through technology solutions. Analyzes business processes; documents business requirements, analyzes alternative solutions, performs process modeling; manages change and User Acceptance Testing; and creates and executes testing, verification, and validation activities. Works directly with business teams to understand business processes, business drivers, and strategic business objectives

What You'll Do

  • Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative IT solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices.
  • Proactively seeks out strategic business opportunities with business unit leaders for the application of new or existing IT capabilities.
  • Develops information systems strategies that support business requirements and identifies the business benefits of alternative solutions while ensuring alignment between business strategy and technology direction.
  • Analyzes business processes; documents business requirements, analyzes alternative solutions, performs process modeling; manages Change and User Acceptance Testing; creates and performs testing, verification, and validation of requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into functional requirements and technology-enabled process improvement opportunities.
  • Identifies process disconnects and translates them into improvement opportunities with cost savings or avoidance, productivity improvements, risk reduction, or revenue-generating business benefits.
  • Make recommendations to process stakeholders regarding the most effective approach to achieving process improvement objectives through process redesign, application enhancements, or adoption of new technologies.
  • Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
  • Coordinates with business and IT organizations to ensure production systems are properly supported, maintained, and enhanced.
  • Manage relationships between clients involved and IT organizations to assure effective communication between the groups is occurring. Brokers services within the IT community on behalf of customers, coordinates solution portfolios, and identify dependencies across related initiatives.
  • Allies with other IT functional areas to remain current on project status and inform customer management of progress; conversely, keeps IT managers aware of user issues and resolves conflicts.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor and business process expert to business and IT organizations, providing insight into business drivers, processes, and opportunities for technology-enabled transformation.
  • Identifies the impact of any relevant statutory, internal, or external regulations on the organization's use of information.
  • May have indirect project team or functional area supervisory responsibility.
  • May have responsibility for project budget planning, tracking, and management.
  • Conducts training where applicable.

Education & Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or another related discipline.
  • 7-10 years of relevant IT and business systems experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in IT, business systems, business analysis, or business relationship management roles in a global matrixed environment.
  • Knowledge of Contract lifecycle management system like Conga CPQ.
  • Experience working with Contract & pricing strategy, Rebate management (preferably Model N system), Revenue management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare and Model N Revenue Management solutions preferred.
  • Experience with ERP integrations, Salesforce.com Sales Cloud/Lightning, Training systems, and Commercial Operations SaaS solutions is a plus
  • Strong experience working with SQL/Power BI, Middleware integration platforms (informatica workflows/MuleSoft//SSIS), Oracle, Conga CPQ, etc.
  • Strong team player who has established positive partnerships across the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience building trusted relationships and influencing business and IT stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders to identify and deliver strategic process and technology improvements.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal, including presentation development).
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and effectively multi-task across active projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives successfully.
