Business Process Reengineering information

What are common challenges in business process reengineering and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in BPR roles often encounter challenges such as resistance to change, difficulty in aligning stakeholders with new processes, and integrating new technologies with legacy systems. Overcoming these obstacles requires strong communication skills, effective change management strategies, and a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement. Building cross-functional teams and providing ongoing training can also help ensure smoother transitions and lasting improvements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a business process reengineering specialist?

To thrive as a Business Process Reengineering specialist, you need strong analytical skills, process mapping expertise, and a background in business management or industrial engineering. Familiarity with BPM tools like Visio, Lean Six Sigma certification, and experience with ERP systems are typically required. Excellent communication, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential soft skills for driving successful transformation. These skills ensure effective redesign of processes, alignment with organizational goals, and sustainable improvements in efficiency and performance.

Job Title*
GenAI-fluent business process analyst
Number of Positions*
1
Job Description*
GenAI-fluent business process analyst to partner with the AI @ Sales BPR Lead in accelerating AI adoption across Sales Business Process
Reengineering. This is a hybrid role: part process designer, part AI builder, part change agent. Should be capable to map workflows, identify AI opportunities, design and build solutions using prompting and AI tools (not code), and drive adoption across our teams.
Responsibilities -
Discover & Map
- Document current-state (as-is) and future-state (to-be) workflows across BPR team roles and Sales Ops functions
- Produce user journey maps that clearly identify AI intervention points
- Shadow users, run workshops, and interview stakeholders to surface pain points and high-value automation opportunities
- Assess and triage AI use cases
Design & Build
- Design AI-powered workflows that combine prompting, enterprise AI tools, and process automation
- Build and iterate on solutions using Claude and other GenAI tools - through expert prompting, not code
- Create prompt libraries, workflow templates, and reusable playbooks for the team
- Navigate the technical landscape (APIs, data flows, system boundaries) to propose viable architecture and integration approaches - translating between business
needs and engineering possibilities
Drive & Scale
- Own the AI use case backlog: triage, prioritize, and track from idea through adoption
- Enable champions across the team - train, coach, and support team members to build their own AI workflows
- Drive UAT for AI-powered solutions including test scripts, acceptance criteria, and feedback loops
- Measure and report on adoption, time saved, and quality improvement
- Build the playbook: document patterns, decisions, and lessons learned so the AI capability scales beyond any one person
Influence & Communicate
- Present recommendations, demos, and progress to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Facilitate brainstorming and lessons-learned sessions to continuously refine the AI approach
- Support program-level coordination for cross-functional AI initiatives as needed
Relevant Experience*
5 years
Mandatory skills*
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years in business analysis, process design, or workflow optimization - ideally in a Sales, Ops, or enterprise tech environment
- Demonstrated ability to map complex, cross-functional business processes and redesign them for efficiency
- Strong GenAI fluency: hands-on experience with LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) - you can prompt, iterate, and build workflows without writing code.
You should be comfortable navigating AI tools daily, not just aware of them.
- Ability to navigate technical landscapes: understand APIs, data flows, system architectures, and integration patterns well enough to propose viable solutions
and communicate effectively with engineering teams
- UX-centric mindset - you think from the user's perspective first, then work backward to the system
- Exceptional communication skills: can run a workshop, write a BRD, and present to leadership with equal confidence
- Strong analytical mindset with a continuous improvement orientation - data-driven root cause analysis, not gut feel
- Well-versed in Agile/Scrum delivery; comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration
- Self-directed, high-energy, and biased toward action
- Experience driving adoption and change management across teams unfamiliar with new tools or ways of working
Desired skills*
Preferred
- Experience in Sales Operations, Sales BPR, or enterprise CRM/order management ecosystems
- Familiarity with large-enterprise tech ecosystems and internal tooling landscapes
- Portfolio or examples of AI-powered workflow design (prompt libraries, automated workflows, process redesigns)
- PMI/PMP or Agile certification
